Chapter 88 - Trip

He used his hands as a pillow and rested his head on them. His mind drifted to the nightmare he had had last night. Alex opened his eyes when the door to his room opened. Avery smiled at him and placed the bowl of soup.

"You're back." Alex drawled

Avery hummed. Alex got up from the bed and moved closer to the table. Halfway through the soup, Avery spoke.

"I ran into Esmeralda."

Alex paused. He raised his head and looked at his wife.

"What did she say? Did she threaten you?"

Avery shook her head and sat beside him.

"She told me Jolly and Max were planning against you and plan to take Gibson properties."

Alex's lips became thin. He looked at Avery.

"Is she trustworthy?" Avery asked

"She is. But.... she is still the daughter of Jolly. Also, don't fully trust her; her father killed my parents."

The silence that followed swallowed the room. Alex furrowed his brows at her. He shifted on his seat, his hands clasped around Avery's.

"You're not going to ask me about my parents?"

Avery smiled and shook her head.

"Aunt Hannah filled me in. You don't need to be disturbed about that. As I said, I will always be by your side." She cupped his cheeks.

Alex leaned into it, absorbing the warmth that came from it.

"Why don't we go for a trip. With friends. It will clear the tension and you can loosen up a bit."

Alex nodded at her. He needed a vacation. It was the best excuse to celebrate their honeymoon since they hadn't gotten time to.

"Get a new house," Greyson exclaimed.

Erica rolled her eyes at him. She tossed her key to one of her men.

After the party at Gibson Manor, she decided to work with Greyson. He wanted the downfall of Red Bull, and she needed something to distract her from the chaos around her. So Greysin moved in with her.

"You are free to leave this place," Erica said

"Why do you always retaliate?"

Erica sneered at him before she walked towards her room.

Erica slipped into her bathrobe after she was done undressing. She opened the warm stream shower as she entered the bathroom, absorbing the heat and drifting into her world.

"What are you watching?" Samuel asked.

Stefan glared at him.

"What I'm watching is none of your business."

Ever since, Erica moved into her new place. Stefan made sure he had eyes around her. He wanted to know what she was up to. He knew her schedule -from her waking up to her bedtime.

He nearly lost it when he found out Greyson had moved in with his girl. He also didn't like that both of them got along faster than he did with him. He had made sure she didn't suspect the cameras that were in her house.

"You can't share a house with any other man apart from me Rica," Stefan muttered as his grip tightened around his phone.
