Coming out form the bathroom, she halted in her steps. Her gaze scanned the room which was now packed with suitcases.
" You don't need to send my clothes to my room with suitcases," she said to one of the maids.
The maid raised her brows with a perplexed expression.
" We are travelling" Alex said
He stood beside the door frame. He crossed his arms against each other and leaned on the door.
" Where?" Avery choked on her words.
Alex pulled himself away from the door and shrugged;
" France"
" What? Why?" her eyes popped out.
" My aunt called. She heard about our marriage"
The colour on her face drained. She ran her hand through her hair.
" No! This can't be possible"
She paced around the room with her thumb in her mouth. If his aunt knows about this marriage, she wouldn't be able to divorce him and she could think she is a gold digger "
She looked at Alex :
"Can't you tell it's fake. Yes, please tell her it's a fake marriage. Tell her we are getting a divorce soon. Say something, please."
Alex massaged his temples. He raised his hand, and the maids left the room.
He walked closer to her and every step sent shivers through Avery's spine. She moved back clutching around her bathroom.
" How many times do u have to tell you. We aren't going to divorce. Gibsons don't divorce."
" Then I don't wanna be one. Can't you see? Everything was a mistake, and you helped me out, which I appreciate, but Alexander, I didn't want to be in a loveless marriage."
" Who said this was a loveless marriage, Avery. We can make things work. Just give this marriage a chance. Please." Alex pleaded as he held her arms.
She looked away from him.
" We will be going with the squad."
"Which squad?"
" Our friends, you don't need to pack a lot. We can still get them from France," he said before getting out.
