The Hisuian Typhlosion took its defensive position in front of Roy, opening its mouth to release a brilliant pillar of purple flame!

The intense supernatural fire immediately halted the Basculegion's aggressive charge through the water.

As flame collided with rushing water, massive clouds of steam erupted and spread throughout the surrounding area, creating a thick veil of mist.

"CRASH!"

Despite the obscuring smoke, both Pokemon collided head-on with tremendous force.

Neither combatant gave ground to the other!

"The strength of the Pokemon in this realm is remarkably high," Chris muttered under his breath with growing amazement.

Rather than finding just one Peak Elite level Pokemon, they had discovered two specimens of that caliber. There might be even more powerful creatures lurking elsewhere in this ancient sanctuary. In the outside world, it was incredibly rare to encounter even Elite-level wild Pokemon, yet here they seemed to be the standard.

"Shadow Sneak," Roy commanded with calm authority.

From the shadows cast across the ground, dark tendrils emerged to wrap securely around Basculegion's midsection. For ordinary fish Pokemon like regular Basculin or Goldeen, being dragged onto dry land would spell certain defeat.

However, for a Ghost-type Pokemon like Basculegion, being technically undead meant that the distinction between water and land held little significance for its survival.

The primary purpose of Shadow Sneak was simply to prevent the creature from escaping back into the river's depths.

Basculegion proved to be no pushover. Upon realizing it couldn't retreat to the water, its expression became increasingly ferocious. The ancient Pokemon opened its mouth with a threatening roar and launched a rapid barrage of Shadow Balls toward its opponent.

"Shadow Claw!" Roy responded without hesitation.

Purple flames erupted dramatically from Typhlosion's back as deep violet claws manifested on both of its forelimbs. The Fire/Ghost-type burst forward with incredible speed, deflecting each incoming Shadow Ball with precise swipes, then delivered a powerful strike directly to Basculegion's face that sent the water-dweller flying backward.

"Flare Blitz!"

Typhlosion dropped to all fours and charged forward at maximum speed, its entire body surrounded by a blazing purple aura. The attack connected with devastating effect, launching the airborne Basculegion even further away.

It was clear that Typhlosion possessed superior combat abilities compared to the Basculegion, despite the type disadvantage working against the Fire-type. However, since both Pokemon shared the Ghost typing, the elemental interactions balanced out somewhat.

Typhlosion's coordinated combination attack left Basculegion thoroughly stunned and disoriented.

The ancient Pokemon was captured in a Poke Ball before it could even demonstrate the full extent of its Elite-level combat prowess.

Despite some initial struggling, resistance proved futile.

Within a minute, Roy had successfully captured the mysterious Basculegion.

"Congratulations, Roy, on capturing two incredible new team members!" Alexis offered his enthusiastic praise. "With additions like these, you'll definitely have what it takes to challenge for the Champion title!"

"That goal is still quite far off," Roy replied, though his usually serious and stoic expression showed a rare smile of satisfaction.

However, as he pointed out, achieving that dream would require considerable time and effort.

While both newly captured Pokemon possessed Peak Elite level strength as wild creatures, they would need extensive training and move tutoring before they could function effectively as part of a competitive team.

Without proper conditioning, they might even lose to an ordinary trainer commanding well-trained Elite-level Pokemon - just as had happened with the Basculegion.

Roy secured both Poke Balls and turned to express his gratitude. "Chris, thank you so much for your assistance. This success wouldn't have been possible without your help. When we return, I'll send you the cultivation method for the Demon God Shadow technique as promised."

"It was my pleasure to help," Chris replied, waving off the formal thanks.

"Hey, Roy, why don't I get any appreciation?"

"What exactly should I be thanking you for? You didn't help with the search, and you already received payment for your participation."

Alexis responded by silently raising his middle finger in mock indignation.

"Senior, did you place any sealing stones within this secret realm? Similar to the one we encountered at the entrance?" Chris asked suddenly.

Roy paused, looking puzzled, then shook his head. "No, I haven't placed anything like that here. Why do you ask?"

"While I was exploring the realm earlier, I discovered what appears to be an artificial tunnel system. Deep inside, there's a massive sealing stone that seems to be imprisoning something incredibly powerful underneath. I wasn't sure how to safely unlock the seal." After confirming that the structure wasn't Roy's work, Chris decided to share his discovery honestly.

Upon hearing about a sealing stone within the secret realm, Roy's interest was immediately piqued. "Let's go investigate this right away!"

Chris released Salamence to guide them, and the group quickly traveled to the cave he had discovered earlier.

"What incredibly pure Ghost-type energy!" Standing at the cave entrance, Roy immediately sensed something extraordinary. He couldn't help but kneel down and touch the spiritual energy that carpeted the cave floor like a living tapestry.

"The purity is so intense that if the Spirit World is the source of all Ghost-type energy, then this feels like the source of the Spirit World itself."

"That was my impression as well," Chris agreed, signaling Mega Gardevoir to illuminate the area with Flash while pointing toward the cave's depths. "Senior, the source is located there, beneath that sealing stone."

Roy looked up and his face immediately filled with shock. "That's an enormous sealing stone, and look at all those runic inscriptions!"

He instinctively moved to approach, but Chris quickly intervened.

"Let our Pokemon carry us forward. This Ghost-type energy will actively attack anyone who gets too close."

Chris summoned Arcanine, mounted the Fire-type, and rode into the cave to demonstrate.

"The energy launches attacks? That suggests the source of this Ghost-type power possesses self-awareness," Roy mused thoughtfully. "Raw energy has no consciousness - only living beings with intelligence can manipulate energy to create deliberate attacks."

Following Chris's example, both Roy and Alexis released their respective Pokemon and rode them deeper into the cavern.

When they reached the imposing black sealing stone, Roy began examining the intricate seal work with careful attention.

"Well? Senior, can you decipher it?" Chris inquired hopefully.

Roy shook his head decisively. "I'm afraid not. I've never encountered this type of runic script before. Based on the style and weathering, it's at least two thousand years old, possibly from an ancient civilization or culture that we haven't discovered yet. There's simply no way to translate it without additional reference materials."

"In that case... could we break it open by force?"

Rather than answering immediately, Roy had Dragapult carry him in a complete circle around the black sealing stone, carefully observing it from every angle.

"Brute force is definitely possible," he concluded. "This sealing stone has been maintaining its prison for far too long. The runic inscriptions have begun to weaken and crack over time. The difficulty of forceful removal has decreased significantly - you can see evidence of this deterioration in how the Ghost-type energy has been seeping throughout the cave."

"However," Roy's tone became more cautious, "with such a massive sealing stone and this level of pure Ghost-type energy saturating the area, whatever entity is imprisoned below is likely to be extremely dangerous. If you're determined to remove the seal, you need to carefully consider the potential consequences."

"How dangerous could it really be?" Chris mentally reviewed the legendary Ghost-type Pokemon he could remember.

There was Giratina, Calyrex in its Shadow Rider form, Marshadow, Lunala, and Hoopa in its Unbound form.

Those should be the only five truly legendary Ghost-types, right?

But logically speaking, none of these legendary Pokemon could possibly be sealed away in a place like this, could they?

Since the imprisoned entity was most likely not a legendary Pokemon, Chris saw no reason to fear the challenge.

Chris grinned confidently and reached for a Poke Ball. "We've come this far - I'm not leaving empty-handed."
