"Hmph. So what if two more Gengars showed up? Mismagius must fall here."

"Kecleon, use Fury Swipes to change your type to Normal."

"Tentacruel, use Reflect Type on Kecleon, then use your body to block the two Gengars' Shadow Ball attacks."

"Roserade, bind Mismagius with your vines, then use Sludge Bomb on it."

"Crobat, use Air Slash on Mismagius."

Seeing the two Gengars rushing in to save Mismagius, Sato let out a cold smile and crisply issued a chain of commands to the Pokémon who had already broken free from Mismagius's Nightmare Illusion.

A second later, Kecleon's body instantly shifted from pitch black back to its normal color—its type changing from Ghost to Normal.

At the same time, Tentacruel used Reflect Type on Kecleon, turning itself into a temporary Normal-type. Then, it extended a mass of tentacles to block the incoming barrage of Shadow Balls from both Gengars.

Against Tentacruel's Normal-type shield form, all the Shadow Balls were rendered useless.

Tentacruel shrugged off the attacks without injury, then fired a stream of Bubble Beam to harass the two Gengars.

With Tentacruel blocking them, Roserade and Crobat were able to freely attack Mismagius.

Roserade pressed one hand to the ground, and in an instant, multiple thorned vines erupted beneath Mismagius, coiling tightly around it.

Her other floral hand gathered a pulsing purple sphere of energy—then she launched the swirling Sludge Bomb straight at the restrained Mismagius.

On the other side, Crobat furiously beat his four wings, gathering flying-type energy into a four-meter-wide white blade of wind. The gigantic Air Slash shot toward the vine-bound Mismagius like lightning.

Mismagius, seeing the Gengar reinforcements arrive, refused to sit and wait for defeat. It quickly unleashed Mystical Fire, burning away Roserade's vines.

Dodging narrowly, it avoided the Sludge Bomb, but could not evade Crobat's Air Slash. With no other choice, it used Protect to survive.

After barely escaping crisis, the two Gengars finally broke free of Tentacruel's interference and positioned themselves on Mismagius's left and right, glaring furiously at Sato and his Pokémon.

The left Gengar struck first—unfurling a long, crimson tongue aimed straight at Crobat, who had trapped Mismagius earlier using Mean Look.

The other Gengar conjured a mass of eerie blue-white Will-O-Wisps, sending them shooting toward Sato's Pokémon.

Meanwhile, the gem on Mismagius's chest glowed crimson—it was clearly preparing to unleash its Nightmare energy again, attempting to drag Sato and his Pokémon back into its Nightmare Illusion.

"Not happening. Crobat—use Supersonic!"

"Roserade, once Crobat finishes Supersonic, use Aromatherapy to cure everyone's burns."

Sato immediately gave the orders via telepathy.

Crobat nimbly evaded the licking tongue and the incoming Will-O-Wisp with a quick Aerial Ace, then opened his mouth and unleashed a piercing wave of Supersonic.

Everyone nearby clutched their ears in agony. Mismagius's Nightmare Illusion shattered instantly beneath the assaulting sound waves.

Crobat ended the attack quickly, and another massive white blade formed—then mid-flight, it split into dozens of smaller Air Slash projectiles, raining down on the already-reeling Mismagius and the two Gengars.

At that moment, Roserade released Aromatherapy—her flower petals glowing as a soothing fragrance filled the air.

The burns inflicted by Will-O-Wisp, as well as the disorientation from Supersonic, vanished from Sato's Pokémon.

"Now! Everyone—take Mismagius down!"

Through telepathy, Sato issued the coordinated strike order.

His Pokémon obeyed instantly:

A bolt of lightning erupted from the now-Electric-type Kecleon,

Tentacruel fired another Bubble Beam,

Roserade unleashed a flurry of Magical Leaf.

Mismagius, still recovering from the barrage of miniature Air Slash blades, could not dodge fast enough.

But to Sato's surprise—both Gengars threw themselves in front of Mismagius, taking the full brunt of all attacks.

They dissolved into black smoke and vanished.

Meanwhile—

At some unknown time, the female poachers's Manectric had circled wide around the battlefield, slipping past Nidoking's defenses.

While Sato and his Pokémon focused on Mismagius and the Gengars, Manectric released a sudden Thunderbolt—straight at Crobat.

Crobat's reaction was swift—he immediately used Protect.

But right as the green barrier faded, a level 64 Dusknoir burst up from the ground beneath him, striking with a lightning-fast Thunder Punch.

Crobat screamed in pain and fell from the sky, trembling.

At that very moment, the phantom crimson eye floating above Mismagius's chest vanished.

Seeing this, Mismagius was overjoyed. It ignored all thoughts of revenge and instantly vanished into invisibility, retreating with Dusknoir back to the side of the sickly old man.

With the assistance of the two Gengar clones, Manectric, and Dusknoir, Mismagius ultimately broke free from Sato's trap and escaped back to its master in a panic.
