[Ding!]

[Detected free elemental energy around the host that can be absorbed.]

[Absorb it?]

The instant the Kyogre crystal began to crack, a voice — melodious as the sound of heaven — echoed in Sato's mind.

Without a moment's hesitation, Sato mentally replied Absorb! and swiftly recalled Swampert and Pikachu into their PokeBalls.

Once done, his eyes flashed blue again — and in the next instant, his figure vanished from sight. When he reappeared, he was already standing on Dragon-type Elite Four, Drake's Mega Salamence.

At the same time, the fierce energy waves unleashed by Swampert and Pikachu's powerful attacks generated a violent gust, blowing away the dense fog surrounding the Kyogre crystal. The shattered state of the crystal was now fully visible to Drake, Kingdra, and Gyarados.

Drake was ecstatic, while the other two were utterly enraged — their furious roars echoing through the sea.

"Chhh!!!"

But their roars were nothing compared to what came next — a thunderous, ear-splitting roar that erupted from several kilometers to the east, drowning out all else.

Rumble…!

Moments later, deafening thunder rolled across the sea, followed by a terrifyingly oppressive aura that descended upon the area.

The instant that aura appeared, Sato felt as if he had been thrown into an ice cellar — his entire body went cold. He could feel a terrifying presence glaring straight at him, brimming with wrath.

Fighting through the chill that crept up his spine, Sato turned his head toward the east — and saw a pair of massive, blood-red eyes fixed directly on him. The enormous creature, its body comparable in size to a Wailord, was charging toward him at incredible speed.

"Oh my god, it really came! Run! Run, please, Lord Drake — it's angry at me! You can't abandon me now!"

Of course, Sato understood exactly what was happening — Kyogre had awakened, and it had clearly realized that he was the one who had damaged its crystal and absorbed part of its primal energy. It was coming for him.

He shouted urgently, urging the Dragon-type Elite Four to flee at once.

Drake, seeing Kyogre for the first time, also felt its immense power and unbridled fury. Even without Sato's warning, he knew what needed to be done — he immediately commanded his Mega Salamence to fly toward the north, the direction closest to land.

As for Kingdra and Gyarados, the moment they saw Kyogre charging toward them in a rage, their own fury vanished, replaced by sheer terror. They turned tail and fled without hesitation.

Mega Salamence, worthy of the title Lord of the Skies, flapped its enormous blood-red wings with a mighty roar. Empowered by multiple uses of Dragon Dance, it soared hundreds of meters in a single burst — in just a few breaths, Drake and Sato had left the furious Kyogre far behind.

But Kyogre was livid. Seeing the thief who had stolen its primal essence fleeing toward land, it let out another furious roar and turned to chase — even leaping out of the ocean to pursue them through the sky!

Jets of high-pressure water blasted from behind its body, propelling it forward at an incredible speed — faster even than a Mega Salamence that had used Dragon Dance six times in a row.

Wherever Kyogre passed, storm clouds followed, and torrents of rain poured from the heavens. The deluge continuously fed Kyogre's propulsion, ensuring it never ran out of energy for its water jets.

"You brat, what on earth did you do?! Why won't it stop chasing us? We're already over land!"

Ten minutes later, Drake glanced back at the still-pursuing Kyogre, which had now crossed onto land. His face darkened as he shouted at Sato.

He had assumed that destroying the crystal would end the matter — but clearly, things had gone far beyond what he'd imagined. The situation was spiraling out of control.

"Don't look at me! How should I know?! If it weren't for you, I'd have been long gone! I just did what you said — destroyed that crystal — and now that monster's after me! You're the one who told me to do it, so you'd better take responsibility and compensate me properly!"

Naturally, Sato wasn't about to admit that he'd secretly absorbed the primal power from Kyogre's crystal. He quickly shifted the blame onto Drake, who had ordered him to destroy it in the first place, clearing himself of all responsibility — and even took the chance to demand compensation.

Drake's old face flushed red at Sato's words. He didn't argue further — instead, he urged Mega Salamence to fly deeper into the wilderness while sending an emergency distress signal to the League.

Meanwhile, deep beneath Mt. Chimney, in a vast underground magma lake, a pair of crimson eyes suddenly opened within the molten rock.

In an instant, the entire magma chamber began to churn violently. Lava and ash erupted from the volcano's mouth as Mt. Chimney exploded.

The eruption sent the creatures of the region into a frenzy — terrified, they fled down the mountainside in droves.

And it wasn't just Mt. Chimney. Across the Hoenn region, other volcanoes began showing signs of awakening. Clearly, a mighty power long dormant beneath the earth was beginning to stir once more.

Elsewhere, within Meteor Falls, in the top chamber of an ancient pagoda hidden deep within a secluded valley—

An elderly woman with silver hair suddenly opened her eyes from meditation, staring intently at a green orb before her that glowed with an emerald light.

"The Jade Orb is shining… That means Groudon and Kyogre have both awakened. We must seek guidance from the Dragon God immediately."

"Guards! Summon the Saintess at once!"

Her voice carried urgency, and the guards outside instantly obeyed. One of them released an Altaria and took off into the sky.

Minutes later, a black-haired girl wearing an embroidered gown arrived, riding atop a Salamence.

Gracefully, she stepped along the trails of clouds left by her dragon's wings and landed atop the pagoda's roof.

At the elder's urging, the girl held the Jade Orb reverently and began to pray in an ancient tongue.

Soon, the orb shone with blinding green light.

At that very moment, somewhere in an asteroid belt far out in space, a massive green dragon resting on a meteor opened its eyes — and dove rapidly toward a distant blue planet below.
