In Spatial Town, the venue for the Spatial Trade Fair, Mo Yu and his companions stepped through a spatial wormhole, greeted by a bustling small town.
Though the town was not expansive, its sky was an ashen gray, faintly emanating violent spatial fluctuations.
"Although this place cannot compare to the vast spatial realms created by the Eight Ancient Clans, it seems more than sufficient as a trading location," Mo Yu murmured as he observed the crowded streets.
To specifically carve out a space as a trading ground required significant effort. While the space wasn't large, it was far beyond the capabilities of ordinary individuals to create.
"Let's go in and take a casual look. Perhaps we'll find something worthwhile," Mo Yu said with a smile, leading the way down a street. Behind him, Cai Lin and the others followed curiously, their gazes darting to both sides.
On either side of the street were rows of green stone platforms. These platforms displayed scrolls, jade bottles, weapons, and magic cores. Faint glows emanated from these items, indicating their extraordinary nature.
Behind the platforms sat individuals cross-legged, each exuding a powerful and steady aura. Clearly, they weren't easy to provoke.
"Wind God Leg, High-Tier Di Class Dou Technique."
"Cloud Splitting Palm, High-Tier Di Class Dou Technique."
"Formation-Breaking Overlord Spear, Seventh-Grade Weapon."
"Ten-Thousand-Year Frost Crystal."
As Mo Yu's gaze swept over the dazzling array of items, he couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. Even someone like him found several treasures intriguing. Beside him, Cai Lin, Xiao Yixian, and Qing Lin were even more captivated, their eyes shimmering with interest.
The street wasn't very long—only a few hundred meters. By the time Mo Yu reached its end, he reluctantly retracted his gaze.
While there were at least ten items that caught his eye, their practical use to him was limited. Coupled with their exorbitant prices, Mo Yu dismissed the idea of making a purchase.
Cai Lin and the others, however, took a keen interest in several exquisite trinkets. With Mo Yu's earlier boastful promise, he spent a significant sum to satisfy their desires.
Mo Yu didn't mind the expense. After all, as his women, it was only natural for him to indulge them.
As they prepared to move further into the town, Cai Lin suddenly stopped in her tracks, drawing Mo Yu's attention.
Following her gaze, he noticed a small stone on display—a seven-colored stone, about half the size of a fist. Its surface bore seven distinct, vibrant patterns, radiating a faint, peculiar energy.
"A seven-colored primordial stone?"
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, recognizing the item and nodding in understanding.
The so-called seven-colored primordial stone was a rare, mutated spiritual stone closely tied to the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. It was said that such stones only appeared in places where these pythons had fallen.
If infused with the python's blood, the stone would produce a unique energy that was an exceptional tonic for the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. It was no wonder Cai Lin stopped for it.
Mo Yu stepped forward, glancing at the stone's owner—a frail, haggard old man sitting listlessly behind the platform. He didn't even acknowledge Mo Yu's presence.
"Sir, what's the price for this seven-colored primordial stone?" Mo Yu asked with a faint smile.
The old man lazily lifted his gaze and replied sluggishly, "Two eighth-grade pills with at least three-colored pill lightning."
Mo Yu frowned slightly at the price but quickly sensed something unusual about the stone. He gestured toward Qing Zhi.
Receiving the signal, Qing Zhi stepped forward, tossed a jade bottle to the old man, and grabbed the seven-colored stone.
The old man was momentarily stunned by the straightforward transaction. Inspecting the jade bottle, he was astonished—it truly contained two eighth-grade pills.
As greed stirred within him, the old man regretted setting the price too low. However, the icy gaze from Qing Zhi instantly quelled his thoughts.
"A Sheng-level expert…"
The old man swallowed nervously, realizing the seemingly ordinary silver-eyed young man's follower was a formidable Sheng.
Even in a trade fair brimming with powerful individuals, Sheng-level experts stood at the pinnacle.
While the old man was lost in shock, Mo Yu and his group had already left with the stone.
Out of sight, Mo Yu stopped at a quiet corner and tossed the stone to Cai Lin. "Drip your blood onto it," he instructed.
"Is there something special about this stone?" Xiao Yixian asked curiously.
Though the Yuan Manor was now wealthy and even had an experienced eighth-grade alchemist under She Lao's recruitment, two eighth-grade pills were still no trivial matter.
Cai Lin smiled faintly, slicing her finger to let a drop of blood fall onto the stone. As the blood seeped in, the seventh colorful pattern on the stone's surface began writhing, slowly forming an eighth vibrant line.
"This isn't a seven-colored primordial stone—it's an eight-colored primordial stone," Cai Lin explained, her voice calm yet tinged with pride.
Hearing her explanation, Xiao Yixian finally understood. Beyond seven-colored primordial stones, even rarer eight-colored and nine-colored variants existed.
"Let's go. I'll take you to see the real treasures. Perhaps we'll stumble upon something even more extraordinary," Mo Yu said with a smile, leading the group deeper into the town.
Cai Lin and the others followed closely behind.
Spatial Town wasn't large, consisting of only a few intersecting ancient streets. Despite its size, it was crowded with individuals, each radiating an intimidating aura.
Mo Yu and his group walked through several streets without stopping to examine the goods. Their focus remained on their destination.
Eventually, they arrived at the end of one street, where an ancient pavilion stood. The structure exuded a sense of timelessness, its weathered aura spreading outward.
Outside the pavilion, two elderly men in gray robes stood guard, their expressions cold and emotionless.
The two figures stood motionless like statues, yet the faint aura emanating from their bodies was shockingly at the level of a Six-Star Dou Zun.
This was enough to illustrate just how high the standards of the Spatial Trade Fair were!
"This Ancient Treasure Pavilion isn't accessible to everyone. Only those with invitation letters from the three major sects are allowed to enter. Moreover, obtaining one of these invitations is far from easy."
Mo Yu pulled out a red jade invitation from his robes and shook his head in admiration. "Fortunately, She Lao befriended the sect master of Mysterious Space Sect during his travels years ago. Otherwise, we wouldn't have obtained this invitation."
Indeed, having an elder in the family is like possessing a treasure.
Although the Yuan Manor had risen swiftly like a comet, its foundation was still relatively shallow. Without She Lao to hold things together, they would have no chance of entering the top-tier circles of Central Plains.
After a moment of emotion, Mo Yu flicked his finger, and the jade invitation shot out of his sleeve toward the two elderly men, who caught it steadily.
"Please."
As the red glow of the invitation faded, the expressions of the two elderly gatekeepers, initially indifferent, flickered slightly. They cast a cloudy gaze at Mo Yu's group before bowing slightly and flicking their sleeves, sending five streams of black light toward them.
Floating before them were five pitch-black cloaks.
"Most people entering this place choose to conceal their identities. After all, wealth should not be flaunted. These cloaks were specially crafted by the three major sects to defend against detection," one of the gatekeepers explained, noticing the puzzled expressions of Mo Yu's group.
"Very considerate indeed..." Mo Yu nodded in approval, slipping the cloak over himself and concealing his entire figure. Following his lead, Cai Lin and the others also donned their cloaks.
"Let's go."
With a slight smile, Mo Yu led the group into the ancient, imposing pavilion, with Cai Lin and the others following closely behind.
"Please, come with me,"
As soon as Mo Yu and his group entered the pavilion, an elderly man in gray robes approached them from the side and spoke in a low voice. Without waiting for a response, he turned and led them deeper into the dimly lit building.
Mo Yu said nothing, simply gesturing for Cai Lin and the others to follow.
The group walked through the pavilion's corridor for a few minutes before stopping before a massive bronze door. The elderly man then retreated quietly.
"This is our destination," Mo Yu murmured, signaling to Qing Zhi beside him.
Receiving the command, Qing Zhi stepped forward and slowly pushed open the ancient bronze door. A faint glow seeped out, and after briefly scanning the scene inside, Mo Yu and his group stepped in.
Upon entering, Mo Yu squinted slightly as his eyes adjusted to the light. When the initial brightness subsided, a hall the size of half a plaza appeared before them.
The hall was filled with numerous stone chairs, many of which were already occupied. However, like Mo Yu and his group, the figures on the chairs were shrouded in black cloaks, making it impossible to discern their identities.
Their arrival drew a few glances, but the attention quickly shifted elsewhere, though private speculation was inevitable.
Mo Yu ignored these gazes and led his group to a secluded corner, where they sat cross-legged.
Once seated, the group refrained from speaking, pretending to rest as they waited for the trading convention to begin. After all, loose lips could lead to exposure, rendering the black cloaks pointless.
"Ah..."
As Mo Yu waited in boredom, he suddenly sensed something and glanced toward the bronze door in the distance.
There, a group of figures cloaked in black entered one after another. Mo Yu's eyes narrowed as he detected an aura that felt extremely familiar.
"Could it be Yao Lao and Xiao Yan?" Mo Yu murmured, stunned as he recognized the aura.
Despite the cloaks, Mo Yu discerned their identities through subtle nuances in their energy.
While Mo Yu studied them, Yao Lao and Xiao Yan also seemed to sense something, their gazes landing on Mo Yu's group. After a brief moment, they nodded slightly, acknowledging him.
Mo Yu returned the nod but refrained from speaking, knowing that this was not the right place for conversation.
"Dong!"
Not long after Xiao Yan's group entered, a crisp and resonant bell echoed throughout the quiet ancient hall.
In the center of the hall, an elderly man with white hair and beard appeared amidst rippling spatial distortions, as if stepping out from the void.
"A peak Nine Turn Dou Zun," Mo Yu muttered as he recognized the aura emanating from the elder.
This man was half a step into the Ban Sheng realm. If he could compress his Dou Qi one more time, it would undergo a qualitative transformation, allowing him to break through to Ban Sheng.
"This is the master of Reflecting Treasure Mountain, Elder Bao Shan. He has appraised countless treasures in his lifetime and possesses extraordinary insight. It's said that he's a renowned expert in Central Plains and is now at the peak of Nine Turn Dou Zun, just a step away from Ban Sheng," Mo Yu whispered, having gathered intelligence about the Spatial Trade Fair beforehand.
Hearing this, Cai Lin, Xiao Yixian, and Qing Lin nodded slightly, showing no surprise.
It wasn't that they underestimated a peak Nine Turn Dou Zun, but compared to the young prodigy beside them, who had defeated a Ban Sheng despite his youth, Elder Bao Shan's achievements seemed less impressive.
"Hehe, another Spatial Trade Fair has arrived. I trust everyone has been well?"
Elder Bao Shan's voice echoed in the hall as his gaze swept over the crowd.
After a brief opening remark, he wasted no time. With a wave of his sleeve, the space around him distorted, forming a spatial barrier that encased him like a prison.
"Just the usual precautions, I hope you don't mind," Elder Bao Shan said with a smile.
With that, he stepped onto the auction platform, cleared his throat, and declared, "Everyone is here, so without further ado, let us begin this year's Spatial Trade Fair!"
