Bang bang bang!!!
A series of loud gunshots echoed above Uruk's city walls.
"…"
Tezcatlipoca, unsure how many shots he'd fired without hitting anything, froze momentarily. In the awkward standoff with two of Tiamat's eleven children Lahmu staring him down, he abandoned his firearm, swinging the axe embedded in the back of his pistol at them instead.
Only then did this oddly styled battle resume.
On the other side, Roy was locked in a struggle with several of Tiamat's eleven children Lahmu.
Swish swish swish!!!
Piercing sounds of air being sliced rang in his ears, accompanied by an unrelenting sense of danger.
The biological arm blades slashing from every direction were so fast they left afterimages.
Several terrifyingly powerful Lahmu attacked in unison, intent on tearing apart the culprit who stole their mother and killed their sibling.
Despite Roy's immense strength, peerless in both single combat and against groups, surpassing the limits of human potential, even Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl, seasoned as they were, couldn't help but marvel. They remarked that if this Master had lived in their era in South America, his prowess would surely have earned him the status of a main god.
Yet now, Roy was entangled by these Lahmu, reborn from the Primordial Sea as Tiamat's eleven children.
Though he had previously eliminated countless Lahmu and possessed the terrifying strength to defeat even the legendary eleven children, that didn't mean he could easily overcome a coordinated assault by multiple divine-level enemies.
This wasn't a turn-based game where enemies lined up to die one by one.
These fearsome Lahmu gave Roy no chance to fight them individually or exploit weaknesses to pick them off gradually.
On the contrary, as Tiamat's eleven children, their thoughts and spirits synchronized almost perfectly.
This allowed the Lahmu, representing Tiamat's eleven children, to execute the most precise coordination on the harshest battlefield, making Roy suffer greatly.
Clang!!
Deflecting another sharp blade that struck from the darkness, Roy's expression darkened. There was no time to think or catch his breath. In the next instant, even fiercer attacks came from other directions.
Their coordination was seamless: two Lahmu swung their arm blades head-on, two lurked for sneak attacks from the sides, and two others crouched below, spitting out biological spikes or spears to disrupt Roy's rhythm, gradually controlling the battle within their desired parameters.
Even with Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl handling four of Tiamat's eleven children, facing six tightly coordinated divine-level opponents simultaneously was proving too much for Roy.
What's more, these six Lahmu seemed frenzied, as if injected with adrenaline, their chaotic words brimming with madness and bloodlust. If not for their fear of harming their mother on Roy's shoulder, they'd have swarmed him to tear him apart.
Though Ishtar saw Roy's dire situation and wanted to help, Roy refused her aid, knowing she needed to conserve magical energy and prepare for a strike powerful enough to pierce the Underworld against Tiamat's dragon form. He urged her not to lose focus and to continue preparing, assuring her he could still manage.
"Endless…"
Catching a sudden arm blade from the side, Roy felt a surge of frustration. Before he could counterattack, two more blades from the front forced him to retract his arm for defense.
"Aaa… aaa… aa."
Tiamat Lily, clinging to his neck, tried to use her power to disrupt the eleven children's actions, creating an opening for Roy.
But how could Tiamat's dragon form, now aware of this, allow her such an opportunity again?
"Aaaaaaaaaaa!!!"
Unlike the melodious Song of Creation sung by the Goddess of Fate, a crazed and hateful Song of Destruction emanated from Tiamat's dragon form.
In an instant, the prelude to annihilation overpowered Tiamat Lily's Song of Creation, making the Lahmu even more ferocious and impervious to external influence, even from Tiamat Lily.
"…No use, huh?"
Seeing the Goddess of Fate's power fail, Roy felt a pang of disappointment. Still, his hands didn't stop. Taking advantage of the Lahmu's restraint to avoid harming Tiamat Lily, he seized the opportunity, raised his finger, and fired a blinding mana cannon, forcing back their offensive rhythm.
"Annoying creatures… This seamless coordination, is it trying to trap me, the so-called culprit, here?"
"But that's fine. If I can end this quickly here, it'll save some trouble."
He had expected the legendary eleven children to appear only when facing Tiamat's dragon form.
But now, his earlier actions had enraged the Beast of Disaster, causing the eleven children to descend on Uruk prematurely.
Yet, this could be an opportunity.
Facing both Tiamat and her powerful eleven children in the Underworld would be far more dangerous. Eliminating them here first would be advantageous.
These creatures, however, were no lambs to the slaughter. Taking them all out at once was a pipe dream.
But it wasn't impossible. With a clear goal in mind…
All he needed to consider now was how to destroy them!!
Glancing at the approaching eleven children, Roy sighed inwardly, "Looks like it's time to get serious again…"
"But at this point, I'll go a bit reckless… and test this unproven trump card."
"First…"
[Third Magic · Materialization of the Soul · Full Power Activation, ]
A terrifying surge of magical energy erupted, and blinding white light burst forth in an instant.
[Mystic Eyes of the Soul-Binding]
[All-Attribute Advanced Magical Enhancement]
[Maximum Mana Release]
[Monte Cristo Mythologie]
And…
[Hero Creation]
[Dreamlike Charisma]
Tearing off the colorful ribbon wrapped around his arm, Merlin's final gift, its effects enveloped him.
In an instant, Roy, wreathed in pure white aura, reached a terrifying level of power under the stacked buffs of the Third Magic and more. His attributes soared to a horrifying degree, his mana's radiance shining like a morning star under the dark clouds.
With these buffs stacked to the extreme, his parameters reached a shocking level, his speed so fast his figure blurred into afterimages.
He stood there.
The terrifying pressure of his erupting mana shook everything around him, his mere presence enough to make enemies tremble.
In the next instant, using boundless mana as fuel, he ignited a blazing soul fire. Black light radiated from his fist and palm, piercing through the space before him in a burst.
With lightning speed, he struck one of Tiamat's eleven children, unleashing dazzling crimson-black lightning.
The sudden surge in speed and terrifying aura caught the Lahmu, who thought victory was assured, off guard.
The moment his fist, wreathed in black flames, struck the Lahmu, a terrifying black light erupted from its chest. Endless mana and soul fire's devastating force burned its body, eliciting a pained scream.
But it wasn't over. His ice-blue Soul-Binding Mystic Eyes glinted faintly.
Channeling mana into his legs and torso, Roy became a black afterimage, flashing to the front of another eleven child Lahmu.
His fist, wrapped in black flames and immense mana, amplified by layered enhancements, compressed the air as it struck, producing a deafening sonic boom in the Lahmu's ear.
Buzz buzz buzz!!!
In the blink of an eye, a Lahmu that had been gleefully swinging its arm blade to suppress Roy was hit, its body shattered into scattered black dust by the terrifying force.
"Aaahhh!!!"
"Damn old human!!!"
Another Lahmu nearby, witnessing its sibling's death, let out a piercing scream. As it moved to attack, a blue beam from Tiamat Lily's mouth swept toward it, forcing it to dodge.
In the next instant, Roy appeared above it, delivering a heavy kick.
Boom!!
The irregular black figure plummeted like a cannonball, crashing near Uruk's walls.
The impact raised a mushroom cloud of dust and left a massive crater with web-like cracks in the ground.
In an instant, another of Tiamat's eleven children was dead.
But Roy's expression grew complex, his body trembling slightly.
This reckless mana overload and stacking came at a cost. The burden and pain he endured were proportional to the power gained.
He couldn't describe the sensation, but it felt as if every cell in his body was burning.
If he weren't sustaining himself with healing while maintaining this state, anyone else's body and will would have collapsed long ago.
The full-power burst from stacked abilities instantly killed three of Tiamat's eleven children. Watching from afar with a magical device, Mash's face lit up with admiration.
"Too strong… Is this Roy-senpai's true power? Is this what a proper Master should be?"
Seeing Roy lead the charge and dominate Uruk's battlefield, Mash Kyrielight murmured in awe.
Even Mash was deeply impressed by this peculiar senior.
As an imperfect Servant, though Galahad lent her his power, her personality made her feel she could never fully wield his true strength.
In this chaotic situation, all she could do was protect her senior. Against Demon Pillars, Gorgon, Humbaba, or these eleven children, she couldn't fight.
This made Mash feel self-reproach, while she admired Roy's displayed power.
If she could be like Mr. Roy, she could better protect her senior and everyone else.
"Huh? What kind of proper Master is stronger than a Servant?!!"
Hearing Mash's remark, Dr. Roman retorted through the communicator, "That guy isn't a normal Master. He's not even a magus. If I'm not mistaken, his true identity is a Magician, one of the five Magicians in this world."
"Eh? A Magician? What's the difference between that and a magus?"
"Magic and magecraft, they seem similar…"
Mash, not from a traditional magecraft background, was puzzled by the essential difference.
"Hmph, Chaldea's Master, you really lack basic knowledge."
Before Dr. Roman could explain, Gilgamesh, firing weapons through golden portals to kill Lahmu, spoke up.
"Magic and magecraft differ by one word, but the gap is vast."
"Since you seem untrained in proper magecraft, let this king briefly explain the difference."
"Magecraft uses mana to accelerate something achievable by human means, a shortcut. Magic, however, is a miracle unattainable by human effort or time, a mystery distinct from magecraft. In this era, what magecraft or science cannot achieve, magi call magic."
"So… compared to the magecraft I've seen, the magic Roy-senpai wields is a true miracle?"
"You can see it that way, Chaldea's Master." Gilgamesh nodded. "That boy's magic is a unique miracle, a precious treasure even this king cannot replicate."
"Enough chatter. It's time for this king to take the stage."
Gilgamesh saw Roy, stacking and overloading abilities to kill three more of Tiamat's eleven children in moments, now in an extremely unstable state.
His pained expression suggested he might not hold out much longer.
Glancing at Tiamat's dragon form in the distance, Gilgamesh noted the chaotic tide's surge. Tiamat's massive dragon body would reach Uruk in less than an hour, within their planned range.
As the Beast of Disaster approached, the Sea of Chaos swelled, and the number of Lahmu near Uruk grew.
Though Ishtar, Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca, and Jaguar Man did their best to clear the Lahmu near the walls, their efforts were a drop in the bucket against the endless enemies.
Quetzalcoatl, having burned too much divinity with her Noble Phantasm, wasn't suited for another desperate fight. Ishtar needed to conserve mana for a decisive strike against Tiamat's dragon form, unable to act freely. Tezcatlipoca had no intention of using his Noble Phantasm, as it would be ineffective here and might even cause negative effects.
Seeing Roy bogged down by Tiamat's eleven children and in an unstable stacked state, Gilgamesh knew it was time to act.
Though not the ideal moment, he had to step in.
Human plans pale against fate; adapting to the moment was the true path to victory. Other matters could wait, first, they had to overcome this crisis.
"As expected, the final moment requires this king's intervention…"
Standing atop the divine tower's dome, Gilgamesh gripped a thick clay tablet, a faint smirk on his lips.
He looked at the Servants from different eras, once enemies or allies, now fighting valiantly across this foreign battlefield to protect humanity, a glint of approval in his eyes.
Seeing the Sumerian people, willing to sacrifice their souls to become Ascenders and fight the Mother of Genesis to the end, he felt deep satisfaction.
Thanks to these heroes and humanity's unyielding, sacrificial golden spirit, Uruk had endured this long.
"Thank you for your efforts. Now, leave the next opportunity to this king…"
He murmured silently.
Facing the chaotic tide surging toward Uruk like a tidal wave, Gilgamesh's gaze grew resolute. With a gentle wave of his hand, he channeled mana to open the clay tablet-like grimoire, golden ripples swirling around him.
"Hahaha!!!"
Laughing heartily, Gilgamesh let the wild wind whip his tall figure, the two white ribbons dangling from his hat dancing wildly. "Come, Lahmu! What this king prepared for Tiamat, it seems these mongrels will taste first!!"
"Witness this king's, Uruk's, swan song!"
"In return, atone with your deaths!!"
