Chapter 88 - New Dawn Chapter: 088

Tysone and Shizuka kept going at it, the former making up for a lifetime of celibacy with anime pussy. 'Animussy?'

Either way, they lasted a couple more rounds, with both of them calling it quits when fatigue settled in. Especially Shizuka, whose legs began to tremble after the second round.

Morning came quickly, sunlight piercing through the blinds.

Tysone's eyes fluttered open. He blinked sleepily at the sight before him. There lay a blonde goddess beside him. He studied her serene visage; her lips slightly parted in peaceful slumber; her blonde locks strewn haphazardly around her. Strands stuck loosely to her sweaty face.

He quietly watched her.

'We did it, huh?'

Kind of unexpected, but not unwelcome.

Now the problem was more of an emotional one, since he didn't know what kind of relationship the nurse expected, whether casual or something more serious. Tysone was still new to Japan; he didn't know if hookups were commonplace here. He didn't know what he wanted either, but since this woman was, technically, his 'first' time in this world, he did feel attached, to some degree.

Tysone got up carefully and walked towards the bathroom, taking care not to wake her up. Stepping into the shower, he started cleaning himself off. Once done, he dried himself off with a towel, wrapped it around his waist, and headed back towards the bed where he gently shook Shizuka awake. "Sensei... rise and shine."

Shizuka groaned. Slowly cracking open an eye to look at Tysone hovering beside her. She smiled. "... Hey." She greeted quietly. A mild blush crept onto her cheeks. She looked lovely, like a woman in love.

"You have to leave the bed if you don't want to get jumped again."

"Ha... alright, alright..."

Tysone got up off the bed, picking up her discarded clothes from the floor before placing them on top of her body. He proceeded to get dressed himself, only to find Shizuka laying in the same position he left her in, staring at him. "What?"

"Hehe, nothing~" She rolled out of bed, stood up and stretched languidly, groaning as she flexed her sore muscles.

'Just put on some damn clothes.'

He observed silently.

Her smooth skin shimmered under soft morning light; she radiated warmth and sensuality.

Shizuka reached down to grab her clothes and paused midway through putting them on when she noticed his lingering gaze.

"What?" She asked innocently.

He shook his head in amusement. "Nothing."

Shizuka pouted and turned away to hide the faint shade of pink tinting her cheeks.

As they got dressed, she asked. "... Do we pretend this didn't happen?"

'Ah...'

"What do you think is best?"

"I... well, you see..." Shizuka hesitated. "To be honest... I haven't really thought about it..." She looked uncertainly at him. "I don't think we should tell anybody else though..."

He wasn't one to care about such things, but there was no reason to intentionally court trouble knowing the way Saya felt about him. So he agreed, for the sake of peace. "Sure. Whatever you say, sensei."

"I can live with being secret lovers, though." She winked at him playfully.

'Secret lovers...'

"As long as I'm your only one." He said, raising an eyebrow in a questioning manner.

Her expression softened. "... Don't worry, Ty-kun." Then, after a momentary pause, she added sheepishly. "What about me?"

Am I your only one as well?

Shizuka chuckled nervously.

He sighed. "I can't say that I am the monogamous type." Felt kind of dickish to say, but he wasn't the one who kept pushing people's buttons like she did. However, she did jump up his priority list, in a sense.

Maybe one day there could be more between them, but as beautiful as she was, he didn't feel anything more than physical attraction.

"Oh..." Her shoulders slumped slightly. "Well, I suppose I am not the jealous type..." She trailed off, looking away.

This world operated differently from Earth. Shizuka was clearly disappointed, but not outright heartbroken. Perhaps she expected this outcome from the beginning.

"That..." Tysone struggled to find the right words. "Doesn't mean that we cannot keep doing what we've been doing."

"Yeah..." Shizuka perked up slightly. "We'll keep it our little secret!" She held a finger to her lips mischievously. "Hehe~"

'She's taking this quite well.'

Shizuka stood in front of the mirror, smoothing her hair. "I wonder if anyone will notice...?" She turned around and looked at Tysone. "What do you think?"

Tysone raised an eyebrow.

'I can definitely notice.' He stared pointedly at the bite marks and hickeys dotting her neck. She followed his line of sight and gasped. "Oh, shit!" She immediately grabbed her scarf, wrapping it around her neck tightly. She glanced at the mirror once more. Her cheeks flushed. "... I hope that covers it all..."

"Maybe I should just tell people that you're a vampire." Tysone joked, eliciting a playful smack from the blonde woman.

"Don't be ridiculous! Everyone knows that I am a school nurse!"

They exited the bedroom together, closing the door behind them, heading downstairs towards the living room where everyone had already gathered for breakfast. The table was quite lively today.

Everyone ate happily, which would've been an odd sight just a couple of days ago. Tysone and Shizuka sat down in front of Rei and Saya respectively. He thanked his foresightedness in soundproofing the whole mansion during construction.

Imagine everyone's reactions had they heard what went down last night.

The problem was that Shizuka wasn't exactly one for subtlety, because she chose the chair right next to him, and leaned in closer than necessary to get a drink from the glass pitcher. The problem was when she grabbed a piece of fish and decided to feed it to him. "Ty-kyun, say ahnn~♥"

Silence slowly crept in as Rei and the others stared dumbfounded.

The culprit herself continued to say 'ahnn~', her eyes crinkling at the corners and her lips curling into an impish smile.

Kohta coughed lightly into his fist to break the tension, whereas Saya froze. Mai stared at them, unblinking. Rei tilted her head in confusion. Saeko wore an unreadable expression.

"... Aren't you two getting a bit friendly?" Saya interjected bitterly, narrowing her eyes.

"Now, now, don't get so jealous, Takagi-san!" Shizuka chided cheerfully. "There's nothing going on between us!"

"It sure doesn't seem that way." The pink-haired girl deadpanned. She shot the buxom blonde a venomous glare.

'That's a pretty big lie.'

As the others watched bemusedly, Tysone opened his mouth to accept the food from Shizuka's chopsticks. It tasted amazing.

At least until Saya grabbed another chunk of grilled mackerel and shoved it into his mouth.

He gagged involuntarily, looking at a visibly jealous Saya, her arms now crossed.

Miku, who had been a silent observer so far, leaned forward and smelled the air. She stared at Shizuka suspiciously. "Sensei, why are you wearing a scarf?"

"Huh?" Shizuka stuttered, caught off guard. "W-well... I just felt a little cold."

"It is pretty warm today." Miku remarked flatly.

"She said she was feeling a little under the weather so I lent her one of my scarves." Tysone intervened.

"... Really now?" Saya inquired doubtfully. "How thoughtful."

Saya placed her elbow atop the table and rested her chin upon her knuckles, studying them closely. Tysone met her gaze coolly, and she quirked an eyebrow challengingly. He didn't blink nor flinch; he remained perfectly calm.

The silence stretched out for a few moments before Saya broke eye contact first, turning away.

"... Fine, whatever."

Miku, however, wasn't ready to let go of the subject. "In that case, why don't you take it off?"

"Why don't you stop prying into matters that aren't any of your business?" Tysone replied. It came out harsher than intended. However, it did work, for Miku retreated into her seat with a slight shudder, glancing away.

"Sorry..."

Tysone mellowed out a bit. "Don't worry, nothing happened and you're overthinking things. That is all." He gave her a reassuring nod. "Okay?"

It seemed to placate the younger girl somewhat; she nodded. But his words only made Saya roll her eyes in annoyance. Did he think she was stupid?

Meanwhile, Shizuka shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

The breakfast table still didn't resume their earlier conversation. So Tysone decided to initiate one himself. "The food is really delicious, who made it?"

Saeko nodded in appreciation. "I did most of the preparations, but everyone helped out in the kitchen." She took another bite of a rice ball.

"They're delicious!" Yui exclaimed excitedly.

"I agree." Tysone agreed earnestly. "Thank you."

"No thanks needed." Saeko waved his praise away modestly.

He couldn't help but smile slightly. In this apocalypse, such little moments brought comfort and relief from the dreary reality of their situation.

As everybody else joined in complementing the food, he wolfed down his portion of food.

"The food stocked should last us a month and a half if rationed well." Tysone said, suddenly. "We'll take two weeks off and use it for rest, training, and development, before setting out again to find rations and other survivors."

"Indeed. We need to assess our strength and prepare ourselves better." Saeko spoke, nodding her head. "Everyone has been progressing well, with the exception of a few slower individuals, but they're catching up." She regarded Yui, Miku, and Shizuka briefly. "... Regardless, we'll have plenty of time to hone ourselves further and get stronger."
