Chapter 454 - 454: The First Steps of Industry

"Wow, it's actually a Western-style castle!" one of the team members exclaimed as they took in the view.

"Breath in that fresh air—it's so crisp and clean," another added, looking relieved.

"Look at those soldiers! They have European and American features. It's exactly like we've stepped into the world of A Song of Ice and Fire," a third person shouted with excitement.

"This is incredible! We're actually travelers in another world, just like in those online novels!" the group laughed, their voices echoing across the landscape.

The members of the exploration team breathed in the cold, fragrant air of the Northern soil, their eyes fixed on the majestic silhouette of Winterfell in the distance. Meanwhile, the Westeros soldiers standing guard at the perimeter watched these newcomers with equal curiosity, marveling at the people who looked so much like Jason.

"Alright, everyone, settle down!" Professor Marcus, the leader of the exploration team, called out to quiet the exclamations. Though he was just as stunned by the sight, his mind was already on the mission.

"Mr. Jason, when can we start the survey?" Marcus asked, his eyes gleaming with professional excitement. "I'm eager to see if this world is truly as resource-rich as our own".

"You'll need to wait a little longer, Professor," Jason replied, trying to calm the man's nerves. "The mapping team is still surveying the topography of the North. Once they finish the charts, you can begin. For now, enjoy the scenery of a different world".

"I suppose that's fair," Marcus sighed with regret, though he immediately turned toward the mapping team to urge them to work faster.

Reforming the Legion

Jason left the exploration team to settle into their camp and turned to his military advisors. "Colonel Liam, Colonel Logan, let's head to the barracks," he said. "I want you to see the troops I've raised. I know my methods might seem amateur to professionals like you, so I'm looking for your help to rectify any flaws".

"You're far too modest, Mr. Jason," Colonel Logan replied with a warm, confident smile. "We'll do everything in our power to train your army. We won't let you down in the coming battles".

Colonel Liam, standing tall and straight, nodded in agreement. "With us here, we will forge an army capable of sweeping across all of Westeros".

As they entered the barracks, Jason's commanders—Kent, Rubin, Jon, and McCann—stepped forward to greet him. They looked at the hundreds of men in strange green uniforms with confused expressions.

"Listen up," Jason announced to his officers. "These are the military advisors from my home. They will form a strategic staff within the legion. Future operations will be planned by them, and as chief officers, you must listen carefully to their suggestions".

Thanks to the translation devices provided to the staff, communication was surprisingly smooth. Once the commanders began showing the advisors around, Jason returned to his private transport point to head back to the modern base.

Powering the North

His next task was massive: bringing over the 14th Division of the Engineering Construction Corps, a force of tens of thousands of specialized soldiers. They stood in a perfectly silent, neat square formation, demonstrating a level of discipline that left Jason in awe.

Commander Samuel of the 14th Division snapped a sharp salute. "Samuel, reporting for duty!"

Jason quickly returned a somewhat awkward salute. "Hello, Commander. I'm Jason. You don't have to be so formal with me; you can just call me Jason".

"I'll stick with President Liu, like the others," Samuel replied, shaking his head with a respectful smile.

"That works too," Jason said. "Now, regarding the construction—where should we place the site? I'm worried that if we build too close to Winterfell and there's a leak, it could be catastrophic".

"Don't worry, President Liu," Samuel assured him. "The Nuclear Power Group experts will select the safest location possible to protect the urban population. Our nuclear technology is world-class and extremely secure".

The plan was to build a nuclear power plant with an annual capacity of 6 billion kWh. In the feudal society of Westeros, the 16.44 million kWh generated daily would be enough to provide light for millions of people across the North.

However, the primary goal for this electricity was to power advanced communication equipment and construction projects. Once the plant was operational, Jason planned to establish a radio base station that would cover all of Westeros, eventually leading to a full communication network. To reach that stage, he would eventually need to launch satellites into the sky.
