Chapter 15 - Chapter 15. Something Else

Eric's figure moved slowly on the busy road. The boy looking more and more like an actual mummy. Feeling his body torn and his heart ripped, Eric went to one of the only two places that he knew.

Looking at the Iron Dragon Shop, Eric opened the door and walked to the counter. HIs footsteps heavy against the floor, and his blood trailing ever so slightly.

The old man sat on his comfortable futon on the count. Piping away constantly, the old man seemed relaxed until he heard a thump land on the counter before him.

'Damn kid can't stop going unconscious.'

When the old man looked up he saw Eric barely conscious with a platinum ingot slammed on his counter.

"You owe me two weapons....." Passing out, Eric couldn't see the old man's look of annoyance.

"Fucking retard. How is it that I always get stuck with the idiots."

******************************************************************************************************Waking up again in a bed, Eric was surprised to see that he was once more strapped down. Looking around, this time Eric noticed a wary look on the old man's son.

The man stood tall but his build was scrawny, not too many muscles on his frame. Yet with a glance, Eric could tell that the hammer he hefted was something he would not be able to wield at all.

"I can't even tell what metal it's made of.'

The man looked at Eric, he then pointed to a piece of metal with deep scratches in it. His gaze intensified as he looked at Eric.

"What? Did a spirit beast scratch that metal?"

The man shook his head and just pointed back at Eric.

Eric shook his head, " Listen man, I don't know what it is that you want. Please let your father know I want to leave. NO BEFORE THAT, TELL HIM HE NEEDS TO REFORGE MY WEAPONS!! Being strapped to a table of a mysterious man was ok once, but twice is kinda creepy"

The man said nothing, merely taking out a clear stone that resembled a mirror. The man held the stone to Eric's chest. His heart beat exposed but Eric saw the mirror go from: skin, to organs, to bone, to..?

Though the man wasn't standing where it was easy to see Eric still craned his neck as much as possible and saw the disgusting presence of a spider. It shrieked and the mirror broke.

Eric felt himself exhausted beyond belief as he started to toss and turn. The old man walked in and looked at Eric now rising and turning. "Did you see it?"

His son's face was stern and contemplative as he shook his head remaining silent.

"Yep, this kid's a goner, gotta wonder which clan planted it in him. Kid seems pretty strong for someone who's had half their soul devoured."

'And that form, what bloodline did this kid have to have such a form?' Looking at the metal plates nearby with deep scratches he saw his reflection. A glaring red nose with some light freckles on his face.

'Ugh, that hag just had to name me Rudolph.'

Eric's wavy hair turned spiky, then wilted, then wool like.

'This kid's bloodline and soul are going into convulsion.' Eric screamed as his body burned and withered. Feeling the pain in his body, Eric felt a pain like nonother.

The two men watched solemnly as a fiery and ominous aura would seem to erupt only for it to be replaced by a spine tingling and decrepit aura.

This time Rudolph stood up as straight as a pen as a Fiery red seemed to flare up from Eric's body. The red was closely followed by a pitch black of the deepest darkness.

'This boy is undoubtably half central human and half eastern human. The easterners..... they really did make a deal with those things.'

Walking up to the boy, Rudolph's face reflected pain, confusion, and anticipation.

"I'll get some answers outta you. Consider yourself lucky kid, this is the third and last time I'm saving your ugly ass."

The old man's hands moved like the wind as he performed hand sign after hand sign. The man standing next to the old man looked on with surprise on his brow. Slamming a hand onto the boy's chest the old man bellowed.

"Come out, you blasted thing." A red light flared as a bang let off. The air seemed to be sucked from the room as pure darkness radiated. Nothing was visible except Eric's now gleaming orange eyes.

"Name yourself foul thing." The man stood with his eyes wide open as he looked at Eric or the being that was before him.

A deep guttural voice spoke, "It has been too long since I spoke to one of the dwarven descendants... all though not a pure one. HEehehehehe." The room itself seemed to shake as the dwarf looked dead into the creature's eyes.

"NAME THY SELF, FOUL BASTARD!!" The orange eyes of the being gleamed black as a tiny spark came into the dwarf's line of sight. The room grew quiet as the dwarf's arm flared triple it's size mirroring the now growing spark as well.

The dwarf screamed something, but no sound could be heard in the room as the spark exploded. Yet a square box so symmetrical it seemed unreal, encased the spark. A bang as an explosion seemed to go off. Still, no sound could be heard in the room, but the dwarf sweating profusely.

The dwarf clapped his hands and the darkness itself receded back to only Eric. An ebony black figure with blood red writing on his face, his eyes looking at the little old man in amusement.

"You people never cease to amaze me. Why is that you think you can just speak to being such as myself any old way."

The old man sweat bullets as he struggled to breath but eventually, he laughed.

"HAHAHAHAHA, I almost forgot what pricks you fuckers were. Always trying to throw your dick around but never really having the power. I'll ask one more time you insipid old dog. WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!"

The being's eyes narrowed as it played with fire in it's hand. "The name is Vulbanzerus the Marid."

Rudolph's brows furrowed like daggers, "Why have you awakened a bloodline in this boy. He is nothing." The being smiled. It was an ugly sight, Eric's face devoid of a nose and only his eyes and mouth remained.

His mouth filled with bloody serrated teeth and orange tangs of fire.

"We will make good on our promise of coming back. Mark my words, I will envelop this land in hellfire if it's the last thing I do." The being's eyes shrunk as the pupil's turned darker than black and the iris' turned a dark red.

Rudolph was quiet and merely snapped a finger as a symbol lit on Eric's chest making the bodily changes revert back. The eyes remained as Eric seemed to turn back to normal but the eyes stayed locked on the old man.

The two stared at one another until Eric's face widened showing his serrated teeth, the orange eyes leaving as his mouth seemed to finally transform back to normal.
