Chapter 764 - Chapter 762: Revelation

As Uchiha Shisui recounted his experience, Seimei felt a surge of emotions.

He had always known that, given Shisui's talent, awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan was only a matter of time. But he hadn't expected it to happen today—let alone under these circumstances, triggered by an attack from Uchiha Obito.

This was completely different from his previous life.

"I wonder what kind of ability his Mangekyō Sharingan has awakened?"

Seimei pondered as he recalled the pattern in Shisui's eyes when he activated his Mangekyō.

Every pair of Mangekyō Sharingan has its own unique design. If the patterns match, it usually means the eye abilities are the same.

After comparing Shisui's Mangekyō with his memories, Seimei confirmed that the design hadn't changed from what he remembered.

Which meant… it was highly likely that Shisui had still awakened Kotoamatsukami—the most powerful genjutsu.

Suddenly, Seimei's heart tightened.

He had locked eyes with Shisui for quite a while just now. Could it be that Shisui had already used Kotoamatsukami on him to alter his will?

The thought sent a chill down his spine, and he immediately focused on examining his own mind.

Even now, he could still think about using Amanomi's power later to eliminate any potential mental manipulation.

That alone was enough to reassure him.

If he could still consider countermeasures, it meant his will had likely not been tampered with. And even if it had, he could still use his technique to undo it.

Besides, knowing Shisui's personality, he wasn't the type to use Kotoamatsukami recklessly, especially without reason.

As for the intense pressure from Shisui's Mangekyō just now...

That was probably just him testing a theory, not an actual attempt to control him.

Seimei also understood that even though Kotoamatsukami was incredibly powerful, it still had a cost. Even if Shisui himself used it, the price would be slightly lower, but not nonexistent.

Yet, from the way Shisui activated and deactivated his Mangekyō, his condition hadn't changed significantly.

That alone was enough to confirm that Shisui hadn't used the technique.

Still… better safe than sorry.

This was where the Transcription Seal would come in handy.

Seimei had already made up his mind—once Shisui left, he would apply the Transcription Seal on himself.

As for the command within the seal?

It would trigger two hours after meeting Shisui, forcing his Mangekyō Sharingan to activate and use Amanomi's power.

That way, even if his will had been altered and he forgot about this precaution, the seal would automatically ensure he recovered in two hours.

Why two hours?

Mainly because activating it immediately might cause unnecessary complications.

Plus, having a two-hour buffer would allow him to gather more intelligence, ensuring that once he recovered, he could make a well-informed decision.

Although the chances of something like this happening were slim, Seimei wasn't about to take any risks.

Meanwhile, Shisui had finished recounting his experience and was now staring at Seimei with a serious expression.

"Seimei, you know who that person is, don't you? Tell me."

Seimei snapped out of his thoughts at Shisui's words.

Meeting his determined gaze, Seimei hesitated.

He wanted to deny it.

But then he remembered—he had specifically sent a shadow clone earlier to warn Shisui about potential danger.

And then there was the part where Shisui described how the masked man lost interest and left after seeing him awaken his Mangekyō, saying, "You're not him."

Faced with all this, Seimei found that he couldn't bring himself to lie.

To be honest, he had a good impression of Shisui.

Despite his young age, Shisui was mature and composed in his actions.

From their brief conversation after the Chūnin Exams ambush to their encounters and collaborations on the battlefield, Shisui had consistently proven himself to be a trustworthy ally.

Coincidentally, Seimei needed someone to draw Obito's attention.

Even though Obito had probably already deduced that the person he fought in the cemetery was Seimei, it wouldn't hurt to give him something else to focus on.

And Shisui was the perfect candidate for that.

Of course, that didn't mean Seimei was going to reveal everything.

Obito's identity was far too complicated.

It wasn't just about Uchiha Madara's resurrection—it was also deeply tied to Black Zetsu's "Save Mother" plan.

Not to mention, the Six Paths Sage's unseen influence still loomed in the background.

And within Konoha, Kakashi and Minato were directly connected to Obito as well.

Seimei had no intention of stirring up that hornet's nest just yet.

So, he'd tell Shisui part of the truth—but not all of it.

With that decision made, Seimei cleared his throat, drawing Shisui's attention.

Then he spoke.

"I can't tell you that right now."

Shisui opened his mouth to protest, but Seimei quickly raised a hand to stop him.

"It's not that I don't want to tell you," he explained, "but this goes far deeper than you realize. Right now, with your current strength, you're not qualified to get involved."

Seeing that Shisui still didn't fully grasp the gravity of the situation, Seimei added, "Even with your newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan—it's still not enough."

At those words, Shisui fell silent.

For the first time, he truly paused to think.

After a moment, he finally spoke again.

"Then what can you tell me?"

Seimei considered this for a moment before replying, "I'm sure you already have some suspicions about his identity, don't you?"

Shisui nodded.

"He should be the same person the village has been searching for recently, right?"

This wasn't just a wild guess.

Obito had exposed too much during his attack—his ability to phase through attacks and his teleportation technique both perfectly matched the village's reports on the unknown enemy.

There was no way Shisui wouldn't make the connection.

Hearing this, Seimei gave a small nod.

"That's right—it's him. I was fighting him at the cemetery earlier."

That was all he revealed.

Then he added, "But don't ask me for his real identity. I can only tell you that he's an Uchiha… and his goal is the Nine-Tails."

"What?!"

Shisui shot to his feet in shock.

The first half of Seimei's statement didn't surprise him.

Ever since he saw the man's Sharingan, he had suspected he was an Uchiha.

After all, even if someone else managed to obtain an Uchiha's Sharingan, they wouldn't be able to use it as naturally as this masked man did.

Just look at Kakashi—despite being a genius, he still struggled with the constant chakra drain from his single Sharingan.

So, Shisui had already accepted the fact that the masked man was an Uchiha.

But the second half of Seimei's words—his target is the Nine-Tails—

That was what truly shocked him.

As an elite Uchiha and one of the clan's most promising members, Shisui had access to a lot of intelligence.

He had long known that the village possessed the Nine-Tails, and that its Jinchūriki was none other than Kushina Uzumaki—the wife of the Hokage.

And now, Seimei was telling him that this mysterious Uchiha was after the Nine-Tails.

If he succeeded, it wouldn't just be a disaster for the village.

Regardless of whether this man was truly affiliated with the Uchiha Clan, the already fragile relationship between the Uchiha and Konoha would completely collapse.

And that was something Shisui absolutely could not allow.

At that moment, an overwhelming killing intent radiated from him.
