Kimizuki Shiho slowly lowered his gaze to the gaping hole in his chest. Then, as if all strength had departed him, he collapsed.
His lips quivered, as though trying to speak, but life had already fled from his eyes.
"B–Brother…?"
Kimizuki Mirai's voice suddenly became clear, tinged with a childlike confusion.
She lowered her gaze to look at her own hands, then at Kimizuki Shiho's fallen body.
Memories surged forth like a dam bursting.
"Once you're better, Mirai, we'll go to the amusement park together."
Each recalled scene stabbed at her heart like a knife.
Abaddon—no, Kimizuki Mirai—clutched her head, letting out a shrill, anguished scream.
"Aaaaaaaah—!"
Black tar erupted from her as the epicenter, swallowing the entire battlefield.
Be they vampires or human soldiers, anyone who touched the tar instantly disintegrated into ash.
Buildings collapsed, the ground fractured. In the blink of an eye, it was as though the world had come to an end!
"Her memories... returned?"
In the command center, Hiiragi Kureto's face changed drastically.
"Activate the suppression device at once!"
But it was too late.
Kimizuki Mirai had gone berserk.
All four of her wings now fully unfurled.
Her obsidian eyes brimming only with madness and hatred.
Suspended amidst the ruins, the creature known as Abaddon—Kimizuki Mirai—spoke in a voice that seemed like a chorus of thousands:
"All of you… should die…"
Hiiragi Kureto stood hidden in the shadows, a dark expression on his face.
He understood instantly something had gone awry—beyond what was planned.
Meanwhile, in a certain spot behind collapsed walls, Hiiragi Shinoa watched in horror as the once gentle, shy young girl turned into this vengeful demon.
She gripped her weapon, Shikama Dōji, her heart in turmoil.
"This is… the Imperial Demon Army?"
In that moment, whatever lingering respect she still held toward the Imperial Demon Army vanished.
A thought flickered through her mind:
"Sigh… Hey, O' Rei Ao—maybe this world should just be destroyed?"
Carrying that notion, she sent Rei Ao a trade request.
Shortly thereafter, within the chatroom:
Rei Ao: "Everyone, what do you think?"
He attached a screenshot of Shinoa's trade request.
… Destroy the world!
…
Barely getting any downtime and sipping tea in front of her computer, Hayasaka Ai almost spat out her drink, eyes widening at that line.
"Wait, is this some sort of joke? @Hiiragi Shinoa"
Busujima Saeko, busy polishing her wooden sword at the dojo, caught sight of the chat.
Her amethyst eyes flashed with sharpness.
"Destroy the world… that's quite an alarming statement."
Meanwhile, Sakurajima Mai, who had just taken a break from filming, frowned at her phone.
"I can't have misread, right? Why are you suddenly talking about destroying a world?"
Megumi Kato: "She must've gone through something extreme to say that."
Megumi's reaction was the calmest.
But Marcille, from another world, nearly leapt from her seat in the library, drawing concerned stares from the scholars around her.
"What?! Destroy the world?! @Hiiragi Shinoa, are you some insane sorceress?! That's way too horrifying!"
In an instant, messages of shock and dismay flooded the chat.
Rei Ao: "So, should I accept your request???"
Hiiragi Shinoa: "Ehhh, forget it."
Hiiragi Shinoa: "Ah, I guess I've scared everybody. Sorry, I just… I saw something disgusting a moment ago and acted on impulse."
Marcille: "Acting on impulse leads you to want to destroy a world?! That's not like just hating your lunch or something!"
Shinoa exhaled a shaky breath, looking over at the rampaging Abaddon in the distance.
"Yes, I really was furious right then."
"In our world, there's an organization called the Imperial Demon Army, supposedly defending humanity from vampires…"
"But in truth—tonight I discovered they're scarier than any vampire."
Her fingernails dug into her palm.
"They conduct human experiments, turning ordinary people into monsters to fight vampires, even if they're just children."
The chat fell silent for a few seconds.
Hayasaka Ai broke the pause:
"That's indeed hard to accept. Conducting such cruel experiments on kids is beyond horrific."
Shiba Miyuki: "But why jump straight to destroying the world over that?"
Bibi Dong: "Ah, some people's darkness runs too deep…"
Frieren: "Can't deny it, but it sounds like Shinoa was just venting her rage at that moment."
Akame: "I can understand that."
Hiiragi Shinoa: "Yes, exactly."
"So now I'm unsure about attacking that experimental subject, seeing how they use the excuse of 'protecting humanity' to carry out inhuman tests. That creature is just a poor girl… I'm lost."
Busujima Saeko sensed the pain hidden in her words: "So, you wanted destruction to put an end to it all?"
Shinoa: "Yes, for a second I genuinely wished the whole world would vanish."
She sighed.
"Anyway, Rei Ao, do you still want me to proceed with that trade?"
Back in the group, all eyes turned to Rei Ao's reply.
Rei Ao: "Having calmed down, do you still want to go through with your request?"
Shinoa was silent for a moment.
All around her was chaos, yet her heart felt unexpectedly calm.
Shinoa: "No, I've changed my mind."
Shinoa: "Destroying the world is too simple—and the innocent don't deserve that price."
She lifted her gaze, a new resolve shining in her eyes.
Shinoa: "Rei Ao, I want to revise the request: instead of destroying, can we make this world peaceful? Could you help me with that?"
Once more, the chat went silent. Everyone waited for Rei Ao's answer.
