Chapter 8 - disaster

 Ryan, Otis, Jack and his sister walked away from the farm. Jack suggested that they go to their neighbor's abandoned house that had mutants in it. They all agreed to go but Jack's sister couldn't stop crying. After half an hour of walking they arrived in front of the house. But Ryan and Otis suggested that they clean the place and said to Jack "Take care of your sister and try to calm her down we will go in and secure the place" Ryan opened the door and led Otis in and Ryan saw him and they started cleaning the place. Ryan killed one mutant and Otis two. Ryan closed the doors and windows and put a bottle in front of the door so that whoever wanted to enter could hear them. They all lay down on the floor and put the bags as pillows and started talking. Otis asked Jack "Why Jack your sister was crying like this and he treated you like this" Jack said to him "Leo didn't leave her alone his whole life he tortured her with words and told her that her mother was a whore and bad words". Otis asked Jack's sister, "What's your name?" Jack's sister said, "Lisa." Otis said, "Lisa, it's over. From today, things have changed. No more hurtful talk." Lisa was silent and they slept until morning. Morning came. Ryan was the first person who wanted to look for water and food. He searched the kitchen and found only one can of food. He took it and opened it. He divided it among them and did not eat from it. Otis volunteered his share to Ryan, but Ryan refused and insisted that Otis eat from it. He waited until they ate. When they were done Jack and Otis called them and said "We can't live here there's no food or anywhere close to go find food" Jack said "I agree. There's a community run by a guy named Max a few miles from here but we can get there if we go now" Otis said "What if they're just like Biomed" Jack said "Don't worry I know Max was my friend back then" Ryan said "Come on we should get there" Otis, Jack and Ryan picked up their bags and kept Lisa close to them and went on the road. They took a shortcut out of the forest that Jack used to take his whole life to meet his friends when he was in a hurry and as they were passing through the forest they saw many dead mutants. On the way they found a mutant hanging from a tree and he had a gun in his pocket. Ryan said "Bingo we got a gun" Otis said how are you going to get there except up the tree "Ryan said I'm going to climb the tree idiot Ryan started to climb slowly and went to the big branch where the mutant was hanging. Ryan started to cut the rope but the mutant got up and grabbed Ryan's hand and started to pull it to bite it. Ryan tried to resist but his hand was holding on to a tree. Otis tried to make a sound to distract the mutant. Ryan pulled his hand and hit the mutant in the head and cut the rope. The mutant and Ryan fell from the tree. When the mutant fell, Jack killed him with a knife in the head. But Ryan had a branch stuck in his stomach. Otis said while screaming "No no no no" and took a piece of cloth and covered Ryan's wound and tried to close it. He wanted to remove the twig from Ryan's stomach but Lisa stopped him and said "You'll make it worse if you remove the twig from his stomach. It's better to just cover the wound with a cloth and not shake the twig." Otis said to her "Aren't you a doctor or what?" She said to him "I studied medicine for years but Leo ordered me to stop studying and take care of the richest fools." Jack came forward and said "Come on hurry up he's starting to lose a lot of blood let's make a sling. Lisa stay with Ryan and Ryan and I will build a sling. Give me the blanket from the bag Otis." Otis handed the blanket to Jack and Jack started to tie the twigs and with Otis' help and in a little while they made a sling and Otis and Jack carried Ryan to the sling and started running to Max's community. As they were walking, they came across a dead person and Otis was killing them with a blow to the head. Ryan was seeing everything but in slow motion and slow speech. He started hallucinating that he was in one of Biomed's labs and that Lisa was his wife but in a medical suit... After a while... The group arrived in front of the gate of the community and Jack started shouting, "Open the door, come with us, he's injured." The guard asked who are you? "I'm Jack, Max's friend, open it." The guard heard a voice on the radio saying, "Max speaking, let them in." The guard opened the door and they entered. The guards took Ryan to the hospital and called a doctor. They entered the small hospital with Amorojack, Otis, and Lisa staying. Lisa insisted on entering and said that she studied medicine and would help the doctor with Ryan. The guard refused. When the doctor came, she said to the guard, "Let her in, I need an extra hand in him." Lisa entered with the doctor and Jack and Otis stayed outside the hospital...
