5 a.m.
Lin Feng woke up to the sound of his phone ringing.
He sat up groggily, looked around, and seeing that no one else was awake, he quietly stood and slipped into a soundproof room. Closing the door behind him, he answered the call.
Void, unlike humans, didn't need sleep.
Demons were beings of endless energy , sleep was merely a way to recover from mental exhaustion or stress, a brief hibernation of the mind. But for Void, such things were unnecessary. His perception was always active, sharp, and endless.
He could sense every soul moving within a five-kilometer radius.
His hearing was so powerful that he could hear an insect crawl five kilometers away.
So when Lin Feng entered the soundproof room, Void noticed immediately.
A single finger morphed into a sharp demonic claw, and he silently pierced a tiny hole through the wall. In the next instant, he vanished from sight reappearing in his own room, already listening.
He heard everything Lin Feng said.
As Void listened, his face darkened.
The Lin family… had finally done it.
After fifteen years of research, they had developed an anti-matter bomb. If even a few of these were released, an entire continent could be wiped out.
Void clenched his fists. He knew instantly the World's Will had a hand in this.
Lin Feng's plan was now clear: he wanted Void to help him build a secret organization, in accordance with their contract. The "payment" in souls would come from Continent A where Haojun's family lived.
Haojun's grandfather was a six-star general, a man of immense power.
If he died, the Lin family could dominate and expand freely.
But Lin Feng's plan went deeper.
Once Void left for Continent A to fulfill his part of the contract, the Lin family would deploy ten aircraft loaded with anti-matter bombs. Ten would be enough to annihilate the continent entirely.
Void, even at his current speed 3,000 kilometers per hour would never outrun them. The distance from the Lin continent to Continent A was 22,000 kilometers, and the bombs would reach their target within five minutes.
He compared it in his mind:
A nuclear bomb's core could reach about a hundred million degrees before dispersing into radiation. But an anti-matter bomb?
Its core began at five hundred million degrees Celsius and kept rising until it surpassed a billion vaporizing everything within a 5,000-kilometer radius.
Void couldn't survive that.
Even if he tried to escape into the Abyss, it would be too late. The World's Will would delay the Abyssal Gate just long enough for the blast to hit.
And if, by some miracle, he was rescued, he'd arrive back in the Abyss fatally wounded. In that world, the weak were devoured without mercy. He'd still die.
"Damn…" Void muttered through clenched teeth.
So that was it , Lin Feng's real plan.
If he couldn't control Void, he would destroy him.
The thought made Void's blood boil.
It reminded him of Earth, his first home.
Humans… always the same.
Whenever they discovered a new species, their first instinct was to kill it.
Once they realized they could dominate it, they'd enslave it.
Only after years of control would they finally accept it.
And governments , no matter how advanced were no different.
To them, no being was a threat until it became something they couldn't control.
Once that happened… they would stop at nothing to eliminate it.
Void sighed softly. "No wonder I pity the heroes from those DC and Marvel worlds," he muttered.
He closed his eyes, trying to calm his mind.
It didn't work.
He walked to the window and stared out at the city.
The first rays of sunlight crept across the horizon, painting the skyline gold.
The buildings glimmered. The people below, unaware of the chaos to come, were waking up to another beautiful morning.
Void's expression softened.
"What was my goal from the start?" he whispered to himself.
"To live among them? Or something else?"
He crossed his arms, frowning deeply.
"Have I forgotten who I truly am?"
His reflection in the glass seemed to sneer back at him, human form, demonic eyes.
"Am I just a human trapped in a demon's body… or a demon burdened with a human heart?"
The more he questioned himself, the calmer he became.
"I haven't accepted what I've become," he said quietly. "I'm still clinging to my past."
His thoughts wandered to Earth, to his family, to the life he lost.
When he arrived in this world, he had no intention of destroying it. It reminded him too much of his old home ,larger, yes, but strangely familiar.
At first, he only wanted to kill Lin Feng and Haojun, to grow stronger, and live quietly among the humans far from the endless wars of the Abyss.
But now…
Seeing Lin Feng's greed, humanity's cruelty, and the depth of their deceit , something inside Void had awakened.
Something far darker.
"Do you really think they'll accept you?"
Void asked himself sarcastically, then laughed.
No matter the creature, every being in the universe longed for its own kind. When you saw your race again, you felt a sense of belonging , a pull to stay and protect them. It had only been two days since Void became a demon, and seeing humans again had stirred something in him .. a faint, dangerous nostalgia.
"I'm a demon," he muttered. "Destruction and chaos are what I was born for. Even if I see other humans, I won't pity this weak race again. Besides…"
He paused, then grinned darkly.
"The humans I once knew are long gone. They've become something else , strong, cunning, dangerous. They're no longer my people… they're my rivals."
Void laughed, the sound echoing through the empty room.
"I am the demon born from chaos itself ... a primordial demon!"
At that moment, he felt a shackle inside him break. His body trembled as a surge of raw demonic energy flooded through him. He had finally accepted his true nature , fully severing himself from his human past.
Time flowed differently between realms. A day here could be a thousand years in the Abyss. Void didn't want to gamble with fate anymore ..he needed to act now.
"They will know true terror," he whispered. "My name , Void will spread through every world, every dimension, every universe… across the multiverse and beyond."
A new purpose had been born.

Back to the Present
Void spat out Lin Feng's head and snatched his soul from the air.
"Finally… I'll enter high-level Rank 0," he muttered and swallowed the soul whole.
(Ding!)
+5000 Soul Energy
[Host: Void | Race: Demon | Rank: 0]
Strength: High
Speed: Middle
Stamina: High
Skill: None
Element: None
Height: 4.1 meters
Soul Energy: 7,000
Void had already devoured Haojun's soul earlier, gaining another 5,000 points, which he used to boost his stamina. Normally, the souls of lower beings barely counted , their essence added maybe 0.00000001 of a point, if that.
But Lin Feng and Haojun's souls had something extra ... a faint silver glow.
That was the World's Origin.
"Add it to my speed."
(Ding!)
[Host: Void | Race: Demon | Rank: 0]
Strength: High
Speed: High
Stamina: High
Skill: None
Element: None
Height: 4.5 meters
Soul Energy: 2,000
"Ahh… yes," Void groaned with pleasure. The power coursing through his veins was intoxicating. He felt two small bumps forming on his forehead, and his back itched with energy.
Once he reached Rank 1, he would grow wings and horns , their shapes unique to each demon. At Rank 2, he'd have four wings… and so on.
The ground trembled.
A deafening rumble shook the skies as bolts of lightning crashed down upon him.
Void looked up and smiled.
It wasn't a joke when people said the world always protected its sons of destiny.
That's why heroes could escape death .. the world itself bent to protect them. Villains, on the other hand, faced divine punishment for daring to interfere.
But Void wasn't a villain.
He was something far worse.
The world's will could never kill a demon directly , doing so would invite the wrath of the Abyss itself. If that happened, this world would be erased in seconds. No realm, no universe, no multiverse dared to test that law.
So this lightning… this "divine punishment"… was nothing but the world's frustrated anger.
"Don't worry," Void said, smirking up at the sky. "You'll be next."
He raised his middle finger. A lightning bolt slammed into him instantly.
"Your papa," Void said casually , a curse he'd learned from his Nigerian friends. (It literally meant "your father," but when you stressed the papa, it became a proper insult.)
And with that, he vanished.

One Week Later
The world was in chaos.
The head of the Lin family had vanished.
A five-star general , Haojun was dead.
And the only son of one of China's richest families had been found mutilated beyond recognition.
Each of these incidents shook the world to its core.
Haojun's grandfather, a six-star general, mobilized the army, vowing to hunt down whoever was responsible.
But while the world searched for answers, Void was already moving in the shadows.
In an abandoned factory on the city's edge, a middle-aged man screamed in agony. His name was Lin Bao , Lin Feng's father.
He had finally revealed the location of the Lin family's secret base ,the place where the anti-matter bombs were stored and tested.
A week earlier, Void had ambushed a Lin family convoy.
He killed everyone in brutal fashion everyone except Lin Bao.
At the factory, Void had asked politely for the base's location. But Lin Bao was stubborn.
So Void smiled.
He hadn't practiced his torture skills in a while.
He began gently. Lin Bao's feet were soaked in salt water. Then Void brought in a goat.
When the goat grew thirsty, it began to lick the salt , stripping away Lin Bao's flesh piece by piece.
Void continued.
He peeled the upper layer of Lin Bao's skin, starting from his fingers, moving slowly to his shoulders. Finally, to "finish the art," he glued a queen bee onto Lin Bao's tongue .. then placed a hive beside him.
The man's screams filled the air as his mouth and head swelled grotesquely.
Void watched in satisfaction.
He had already gotten the information he needed but he enjoyed perfecting his work.
He took one last look at the dying man and smiled.
"A real masterpiece," he said softly.
He truly was gifted in the art of suffering.
