Jimmy returned to his office, placing the Medal of Distinguished Service on the desk. This was unexpected, as he hadn't prepared a display case for it. The key issue was that he had never seen this medal before, and had no idea what kind of case to choose.
Now Jimmy's desk was already lined with a row of medals and awards, proof of his hard work over the past few years, hard-earned achievements.
Mark and Julia were not in the office, probably out investigating a case. Due to Jimmy's previous training and this extended vacation, they had become accustomed to handling cases independently. This wasn't bad, at least Jimmy could take it easy for a while.
After placing the certificate and medal back in the drawer, Jimmy left the office again. The administrative leave that Ruiz granted him hadn't expired yet, so there was no need to rush back to work.
