He took out his phone and dialed the emergency number, revealing his FBI identity, and requested the command center to arrange for nearby patrol officers to handle the scene while other patrol officers investigated the cars on the road. He was sure someone got hit when he fired back, and with the vehicle information he provided, they should be able to quickly locate it.
Then he called Mrs. Mason, since there was a shooting incident on his end, working overtime today was out of the question. This mess would probably take some time to sort out.
