After Jimmy left, Dave's wife Lucy returned to the ward. The couple chatted a bit more and then rested.
Jimmy told the police officer on security duty next to him to take a break, as he would watch over things. Since the FBI had said so, the officer didn't decline and leaned against the wall on his chair, soon drifting off. The hospital ward quickly returned to peace.
In the early morning, Lucy gently opened the door. Jimmy glanced over, nodded, and continued to watch the corridor. The police officer beside him was still nodding off, and Jimmy didn't wake him up.
To make himself look a bit pitiful, Jimmy didn't close Heart Eye all night, making his eyes bloodshot and his demeanor slightly groggy. In reality, enduring another day wouldn't be much of an issue.
