"A face-to-face meeting? Where should we talk?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"The company suggests having it at the office."
Wang Manni said.
"At the office, I'm not afraid they'll set a trap; they're probably more worried about a suicide attack from me."
He rolled his eyes.
"Tell them to meet on Rose Street. You shouldn't be involved, let your deputy director handle it, and have the company send someone significant to overhear."
Liu Zheng said.
He didn't want Wang Manni involved to avoid putting her in a difficult position, having the deputy director was meant to serve as a buffer.
With the buffer, he could rant or threaten as much as he wanted, while face-to-face, he might just spit fire for real.
Back when he was a journalist, he often used this tactic, which helped avoid many conflicts.
Of course, it's not that he feared being hit, but that he feared he might not resist hitting others.
"Okay."
He hung up the phone, and Liu Zheng continued on his way.
