Leng Yan stood in front of her with the necklace, leaning forward to put it on her. The warm breath from his nose lightly fell on her cheeks, and Xia Nuo suddenly felt a bit awkward about the distance between them.
The cold necklace pressed against her skin, and Xia Nuo shrank her neck but couldn't help looking down to admire it happily.
"It's really beautiful," Leng Yan said quietly, staring at her bright smile.
"Yeah, you have pretty good taste. This necklace must have cost a lot," Xia Nuo said, fondly looking at the little swan from every angle.
Suddenly, Leng Yan reached out to hug her, his lips close to her ear.
"Xia Nuo, happy birthday," he whispered softly, and Xia Nuo froze. Then, two cool lips cautiously touched her cheek.
Time seemed to stop at this moment, or maybe it never paused.
Xia Nuo abruptly pushed him away and ran off.
