Victor walked between the tents, losing Elizabeth. She also had responsibilities to attend to, so she couldn't stay and chase Victor around as long as she wanted, even though she would try.
Victor looked from side to side as he sat down between the tents to catch his breath. He wasn't tired at all; he could run faster if he wanted to, even if he just wanted to lose her, he would need to walk a little faster.
But from Elizabeth's perspective, Victor had run off as if he knew she was after him.
Elizabeth stood there bewildered and frowning. She was obviously clear about her intentions. But she was a beauty; she didn't think any man could resist her charms.
Victor was attractive and had that strange connection with that vampire that made him even more attractive. Victor had a strange aura. Danger. That aura drew Elizabeth to him like a fly to ultraviolet light.
