Seven New Continents and A Return to a Realm
The seven continents were eventually named:
1.Deep Hollow
2. Dark Shell
3. Waking Light
4. Dark Peak
5. Ash Wall
6. Wither Mar
7. Shatter Lake
Fasarians from all over the realm flocked to the abyss continents. They were a people that craved the dark and thrived in it. They usually lived on the underside of the sky continents while a few, like Zolon, lived above in the brilliant light.
Zolon was considered Azmin because he was raised with the Azmin and Trannisa accepted him as such but he was born, or created, if you will, in the same manner as any Fasarian.
Fasarians simply came to be but always in darkness. Everyone knew that they were somehow related to the Alyanna, just as the Elbin were, but no one was sure exactly how.
Now they had the abyss. Many decided to continue to live under sky continents but all those that lived on the on the top side of the continents moved to the abyss continents.
The abyss continents were different from those of the sky. For one thing they were tethered to land masses within the abyss and did not float freely. Where the realm placed them was their permanent place. This was both because the Abyss was a dangerous place and because there were powerful and unique areas within it that needed to be explored, maintained and utilized.
Secondly Abyss continents had abyssal connections to the realm. This meant that their connections were stronger than the sky continents' and they actually gave power to the realm like a generator that creates excess energy.
This occurred because the Abyss was essentially overpowered and in order for entities to reside within it some of its abundant power needed to be used by the inhabitants or siphoned off so that the excess did not cause harm or alter anything.
The continents and the abyss were connected by unique forces. Some natural to the abyss and others created by the realm and more natural to the realm itself. These realm forces protected the abyss continents and their inhabitants.
Rachel had to talk the realm into creating connections, in the form of vast covered bridges, between the abyss continents to make the travel between continents easier.
The people of Trannisa could eventually do this but the bridges would be inferior and it would have taken much longer. With Trannisa creating them residents could easily travel between continents and explore the Abyss safely.
It had been three weeks since the realm cleansing. In another four weeks there would be a council meeting and four weeks after that a wedding.
Rachel had visited each of the new continents in the first five days. She wanted to make sure all was safe for the people of the realm and she was a bit curious of the terrain. She especially liked Wither Mar and made a mental not to train on its sea floor.
There were many unique features within each continent. And she promised herself to complete fate maps of all seven continents when she returned from Ambruce.
Ambruce was the realm that Rachel left when Cramnal called her to help Anis, and the realm that corrupted Lanncey, her grandmother.
A broad dark cherry wood door appeared. It was within a deep arch of grey wood etched in intricate runes that glistened with wonder and power within the soft wood.
The door swung open and Rachel, her Antrunie, and Cramnal stepped through it. She looked at all of the multicolored herbs that had grown as she ran through this ancient forest. She was deep in thought, staring at the herbs, when the door slammed behind them.
They all slowly turned as one to see the door disappear. "That has never happened before."
Rachel looked at the disappearing arch perplexed. "Agreed. I told you that this realm is odd. Look at all the herbs that grew in my path. I feel some are okay but others are deadly."
She looked at Smral as her words faded in their ears. "I agree Milana. I can sense ailments and death from a few of them." Smral smiled. "Can I collect some of them?"
She nodded as she cast a spell to release the area from the time spell. "Collect them all. I am interested in the red and yellow ones."
Smral walked eagerly towards the path as Rachel turned back to where the door had been.
Rebecca collected herbs with Smral and Cramnal examined the area with Rachel. Struns stood guard.
"Do you know how this realm corrupted grandmother?"
"Yes. She slept in a deep cave on the black mountain. While she slept she had a dream she made promises she should never have made."
"Promises?" Cramnal stopped scrutinizing the area and focused on Rachel.
Her hands moved over the area where she knew the arch had been. She could feel the soft supple wood and the runes were warm to her touch, but she saw nothing. She paused a moment. This could not be an illusion.
"Yes. You know our realm is sentient and the outer realms have undeveloped conscience? Well the realm entered her dream and spoke to her but it presented to her as someone in her life and she had a real life conversation. For some reason she did not notice that it was a dream."
Rachel looked to Struns. "Let's get started. The door is still here and the runes are still under my control. We can still use it whenever and wherever I want."
They moved toward the black mountain to find the cave Lanncey found and slept in. In this realm there was a mountain range and each mountain had a distinct color. Ambruce is a relatively young dimension and could be considered the offspring of the Trannisa realm. One day it may have a conscience of its own and decide if it wants to stay connected or sever its connection to Trannisa.
They used movement abilities but they did not teleport or traverse dimensions. They were all powerful beings so they easily stayed with each other.
When they reached the blood red mountains they set up camp and explored the mountain outward from the camp in a ring.
On this mountain they found a lake of deep green water. The water had sorcery energy and was able to hold, cast, and alter spells innately.
Rachel wanted to explore the realm to understand it. She already had her grandmother's memories so she knew her grandmother only went to the grey, blue, and black mountains. She also knew that Lanncey entered through a door that opened in the grey mountains. The door she and Cramnal opened was in a wide valley between the red mountain and the grey mountain.
The next morning was just as uneventful. They explored the white mountain and found many unique herbs, plants, and fruits. It was a broad mountain that had white rock and little ground cover. It made it easy to find the useful flora.
"An abundance of plant life and not a single animal? That is not normal."
"There are animals Smral. There are insects and I have seen small animals similar to foxes and rodents and I have seen birds as well."
Rachel watched as Smral and Rebecca casually talk. She found it interesting that Rebecca was so friendly with her already. She understood because she knew Rebecca and she talked to Rebecca everyday. But for it to happen so quickly was a bit interesting.
Rachel looked at Smral. She knew she was not behaving in a malicious way at anytime. She also knew she was honestly enjoying his life now. Rachel could feel it. It was like she was alone all her life and now she found a family to be with.
When they made it to the black mountain the blood froze in their veins. They all looked up at the mountain with a sense of wanting to flee.
"Grandmother slept here?"
Struns nodded with a shiver. "Your grandmother was the strongest Milana before Rachel came along." He looked at Rachel.
She shook her head. "I don't want to sleep there. I don't even want to step foot on this mountain."
She turned her back to the mountain, walked ten paces and sat down cross-legged. "Let's see what we can find out."
Rachel closed her eyes and began to mediate. She decided to soul walk. She was unsure about the realm and did not trust her astral projection to be safe within it.
Soul walking was different from both astral projecting and dreamwalking. Soul walking was the actually soul walking as the body stayed in a meditative state. For a person with a strong soul, or strong soul magic, this type of projection had minimal negative consequences. Astral projection was part of the spirit mixed with the aura of the individual and dreamwalking was the the spirit projected from the body. This form was best if you had powerful mental and illusion magics.
Rachel chos3 to soul walk because the realm had chosen to attack through dreams and she wanted to have the greatest advantage.
Smral was the first to stand guard but he did so by standing next to her and surrounding them both in layers of soul energy. The others fell into positions to ensure nothing happened to Rachel's body.
Rachel's soul rose gracefully from her body and stood before Smral. She saw dazzling light that pierced her brain. He smiled at her.
'Walk Milana. I will be behind you at all times. You are my future I will not allow anything to happen to you.'
She physically nodded as her soul body turned and walked into a shining silver crystal door.
