Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

LILAH'S POV

I knew I messed up big time and probably Kimberly wasn't going to forgive me. I just couldn't hold back my emotions when I saw her. I looked for her around the school but I couldn't get a glimpse of her. Ever since that day in the cafeteria I knew I had developed feelings for Kimberly.

Just as I was about to give up on my search for her, she appeared walking towards me. I became shy instantly which was very unlike me, "Kim!!" I called out to her.

"Lilah where have you been? I have been looking for you all over the place!" She said,

"I have also been looking for you," I said sheepishly and smirked.

"And why is that?" She asked.

"Let's get out of here, I need to talk to you about something," I said and dragged her down the hallway to my car. I wanted us to skip class.

"Where are we headed?" She asked after we got into the car, honestly I hadn't thought of that part. We couldn't go to my house because my parents were still probably around since they just got back last night. "Where would you want us to go?"

"I'm not the one who ran out of school," she looked at me sarcastically, she was totally right I dragged us out of school so I should have somewhere in mind. "Let's go to my house, my mom isn't at home right now." She smiled at me.

I hopped on the idea and we were off to her house, true to what she said there was no one in the house, we went to her room.

We sat on the bed. "So...what was that stunt you pulled in school?" She asked.

"Kim, I don't know how to explain what happened or how it happened, but I didn't plan for all that to happen," I couldn't get my words straight.

"Hahaha," she laughed which took me by surprise

"Why are you laughing?" I asked, also joining in on the laugh.

She struggled to stop laughing, "you should see your face right now." I couldn't hold back myself anymore and I pulled her into a kiss.

I could feel her freeze on me, and I gently pulled away staring into her eyes.

KIMBERLY'S POV

Y'all should have seen Lilah's face when she was explaining herself to me, it was hilarious. It was hilarious until she kissed for the second time today, I couldn't hold back the shock on my face.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," she apologized. It was unlike Lilah to keep apologizing for something, something was wrong somewhere.

"Lilah tell me what is it you want to say?" I asked

She blushed a little which was very cute. "Well I think I like you!!" She drop the bomb

I knew she wanted to say something but I wasn't expecting it to be this huge.

I just sat there looking at her. I didn't know what to say, I was so confused, DID LILAH STONE JUST SAY SHE LIKES ME??

I was thrilled and confused at this revelation, but wait! Do I like her in that way? I didn't know yet, but I wanted to be around her always.

I slowly brought myself back to reality and noticed her staring intensely at me as if waiting for a response but I wasn't sure of my feelings for her.

"Hmm... Lilah, I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything, I just wanted you to know," she said rather sadly, I could feel it in her voice. "Let's just see how it goes, if you don't like me the same way you can walk out," she suggested and I nodded.

We talked about random things until late in the night, "Kim, I'm home!" Mom was back. We hurried downstairs, and she came back with Josh.

My mom seems surprised to see Lilah, "oh my, Lilah, I wasn't expecting to see you here." Mom said.

"Good evening, Mrs Wilson," Lilah greeted looking confusedly at Josh. "Lilah, this is Josh, my mom's boyfriend," I didn't like how that sounded coming out from my mouth.

She just shaked him, then announced that she wanted to be on her way but mom refused by inviting her over to eat dinner before leaving, which she took the offer.

Dinner with her was kind of splendid. When it was time for her to go I wanted her to sleep over but I held myself back from popping up that question.

LILAH'S POV

Did I mention how much I respect Kim's mom? I didn't want to leave but Kim hadn't asked me to stay and I didn't want it to feel like I was imposing myself on her.

"Lilah, where have you been?" I heard someone ask the moment I stepped into my house, I looked up to see it was my mom. I had forgotten they were back in the house, wait! What were they still doing here? I thought they would have gone on their usual travels by now. "Shouldn't you be somewhere now saving the world or making more money to stuff yourself with, which is it? Why bother about me?" I didn't wait for any response, I just walked up to my room with my mom following me closely.

"Lilah will stop acting like a child!"

"So I'm acting like a child, please can you tell me what I am?" I rebuked her. I was tired of them treating me like I was some grown up, I was seventeen for crying out loud.

"Lilah, can you just stop!!" And I slammed the door on her face. I was totally tired of being expected to act something I wasn't.
