"What are you doing?"
Ludwig looked up from the corpses arranged across the table. Celine stood beside him, examining the three dead rats and almost a dozen cockroaches with a mixture of curiosity and disgust. He had gathered them from the estate's storage rooms and surrounding buildings, though he suspected explaining that would not improve her expression.
"Preparing something."
"I can see that. I meant why you're doing it in my manor."
"Technically, it's our manor."
"Ludwig."
He smiled and lowered the rat he had been inspecting. Apparently, shared ownership did not extend to putting dead vermin on the furniture.
"Fine. I'm preparing a few spies."
"That's disgusting."
"Maybe to you. Personally, I think they're perfect for the job."
He extended his hand above the table, allowing a thin current of Death Mana to spread across the small bodies. Celine stepped back slightly as the energy settled into them.
"Rise Undead."
