Chapter 392 - Chapter 392: Reversing Time [2in1]

"This time, protect her instead. I need to go."

"Understood."

The little magical doll's voice was very childlike, sounding like two little children speaking. There was no sorrow or anger, just a calm and obedient tone, which made Wade feel a little more at ease.

This place was too dark, too oppressive. No matter how clean it was, the scent of blood seemed to linger everywhere, making it impossible not to think about the tragic experiences of the children.

After leaving the ward, Wade hadn't run far before he saw a massive hole in the floor ahead.

Boom—

Outside the window, a building collapsed with a thunderous crash. A ghostly, silent mist swayed in the air for a moment before suddenly vanishing.

Wade gritted his teeth, pulled out his broom again, and mounted it. With a kick off the ground, he soared into the air and quickly flew through the window.

He needed to find Dumbledore as soon as possible.

Collapsed cars... destroyed buildings... and soldiers screaming as they were swallowed by the Obscurus...

"Help—!"

A soldier, who had been hiding somewhere, suddenly dashed out. He ran for his life while reaching up toward Wade, who was flying in the sky.

Wade ignored him and flew directly over his head.

The black mist instantly engulfed the soldier.

Moments later, a boot was flung out, landing on the marble floor nearby.

The originally calf-sized mass of black mist had expanded dozens of times. Billowing black mist swept through the base, with occasional flashes of red light flickering within.

Buildings were continuously destroyed, and shattered debris became part of the mist and debris shot out like bullets at the screaming people fleeing for their lives.

Suddenly, a mass of black mist was forcibly dispersed, revealing a vacuum-like space in the middle. Wade's eyes lit up.

He finally found Dumbledore.

The old man had stopped fighting the island's guards—those soldiers were too overwhelmed with their own affairs. Some were firing their guns wildly at the black mist, while others had already abandoned their weapons and turned to flee.

Dumbledore gripped his wand tightly and frowned at the rampaging Obscurus.

He was probably the person in this world who understood Obscurus the most and had the most experience fighting it. Yet even he found this dark creature difficult to handle.

The Obscurus is a very unique creature. Even if its mist-like form is shattered, as long as a small fragment remains, it can resurrect.

Only when its host, the Obscurial, dies will the Obscurus completely perish along with it.

There is another way—to separate the Obscurus from its host and preserve it within a magical energy field.

But that is extremely difficult… In history, only Scamander has ever succeeded, and that was purely by chance.

As Dumbledore was observing and weighing his options, he suddenly heard a gust of wind—Wade descended from the sky on his broom and landed beside him.

"Professor!"

"Wade, are you injured?" Dumbledore asked with concern.

"Huh?"

Wade was momentarily stunned. He reached out to wipe himself and only then realized that his body was splattered with blood.

It must have happened earlier when Mabel tore that man apart—his blood had sprayed onto Wade.

"This isn't my blood. It's from Mabel… Oh, Mabel is a girl I met in the dungeon. She's the host of the Obscurus…"

Wade quickly explained everything that had happened—rescuing people in the dungeon, rushing to the laboratory, the dark trade on the island, Mabel's abnormal state, and the little girl he had seen after they got separated…

He summarized his experiences in two minutes and then said:

"The person who saved that girl should be me—I can sense magic from her. But if I want to save her, I think I'll need your help…"

The Time-Turner could reverse time, but after going back, Wade wouldn't instantly teleport to where he had been before—he would still be on the island.

At that point, he and Dumbledore hadn't arrived on the island yet. The island was still full of soldiers, and there was a strong magnetic field designed to suppress wizards.

If Wade had to deal with all that alone, it would be extremely difficult. But if Dumbledore was with him, it wouldn't be a problem.

However, after listening to Wade's plan, Dumbledore shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Wade. I cannot use the Time-Turner with you," he said gently.

"To prevent abuse, the Ministry of Magic has placed several restrictive spells on the Time-Turners they lent to you. One of those restrictions is on age."

"Adults cannot use the Time-Turner you're holding—including me."

Wade felt a bit disappointed, but he wasn't entirely surprised. He simply gripped the Time-Turner tighter and asked, "What should I do, sir?"

"You need to return to Hogwarts, get the potion necessary to save that girl, and then return here. So, you'll also need a Portkey."

Dumbledore took a golden key from his pocket and softly murmured, "Portus." (Portkey Spell)

The golden key trembled as if trying to break free from the headmaster's grasp. A strange blue light emanated from it before gradually fading back to normal.

He handed the key to Wade and said, "The Portkey will activate in ten minutes. Once you arrive at Hogwarts, you will have twenty minutes to prepare whatever you need. After that, it will bring you back to this island."

"Saving that girl and using the bond between them to draw the Obscurus back into its host is a good idea. Once the Obscurial calms down, the Obscurus will settle as well."

"But if you fail to save her, don't be discouraged—we all have things we cannot accomplish."

"And one more thing—remember this: after time is reversed, you cannot change anything that has already happened. Whatever you do can only contribute to the reality that you have already observed before reversing time."

Wade gripped the key tightly and nodded firmly.

Dumbledore waved his wand, clearing away the unnoticed bloodstains and dust from Wade's clothes, then smiled and said, "Good luck, Wade."

"I'll be back soon, sir."

Wade mounted his broom again and shot into the sky.

The island's entire defense system had completely collapsed after the combined destruction caused by Dumbledore and the Obscurus. Because of this, Wade was now able to fly freely without any restrictions.

As he soared above, he saw that the once-beautiful white building had been reduced to ruins. A helicopter was embedded in the ground, broken in half, with its fuselage consumed by raging flames.

The island's already fragile ecosystem had undoubtedly suffered severe damage—whether it could ever recover was uncertain.

The dungeon was located in a relatively remote area, meaning it had not yet been affected…

As Wade considered this, he noticed a cliff extending diagonally over the shoreline. Below it was a stretch of jagged rocks, secluded and quiet, with no visible surveillance cameras around.

Lowering his broom, he flew straight toward it and landed on a relatively flat rock.

The gray-black stones, constantly washed by seawater, were damp, smooth and covered in a slick layer of moss. The air was thick with the salty scent of the ocean.

Wade carefully steadied himself, checked the time, then put away his broom and pulled out the Time-Turner, rotating it back by one turn.

He didn't need to go too far back—earlier than this, he and Dumbledore had still been searching for the island, and at that time, the island's defense forces were at their strongest. The intermittent activation of the magnetic field would have made things incredibly difficult for a wizard like him.

The familiar kaleidoscope of shifting time quickly passed. Wade's vision blurred for a moment—when it cleared, the cliff was still the same, the rocks were just as smooth, but the lighting around him had subtly changed.

Most importantly, there was now someone standing in front of him!

A soldier had been hiding in this precarious spot, secretly smoking.

Under the effects of certain white substances, he was in a dazed, euphoric state. He was lying on the rocks and staring blankly at the sky with a foolish grin.

Even in his drug-induced haze, he still noticed when another person suddenly appeared beside him.

The soldier stared at Wade in shock, then, seemingly convinced that Wade was just a hallucination, broke into a goofy smile again.

"Hahaha… Why didn't you turn into a beautiful woman? Oh well, this works too…"

He staggered to his feet and wobbled unsteadily. After taking just two steps, his foot suddenly slipped—

And he tumbled off the rock.

The dark, heavy seawater let out a gulp and swallowed the man whole.

Wade glanced down for a moment before gripping the key tightly.

Suddenly, it felt as if a hook had yanked hard at his navel, pulling him forward with such force that he lost all sense of direction. He couldn't tell up from down—only that he was flying rapidly ahead—

With a thud, Wade landed on solid ground. He propped himself up with his hands and quickly stood.

Whoosh!

Rain poured down in torrents, drenching him completely in an instant.

A few Bowtruckles, sheltering under leaves, were startled by his sudden arrival. They scurried up the tree and climbed to a higher branch, then cautiously peeked out to observe him.

Thunder rumbled across the sky, rolling ominously in the distance. A flash of lightning illuminated the surroundings in a stark, white glow before everything plunged back into darkness.

Wade wiped the water from his face, cast a spell to repel the rain, and looked around. He realized that Dumbledore had sent him near the Maze.

This area is now like a magical amusement park. Through gaps in the hedges, you could hear the distant shrieks and laughter of students inside.

Wade suddenly realized that he hadn't entered the Maze in a long time. His magical abilities had grown so far beyond the level of ordinary students that he had lost interest in such games.

However, today, the Maze was unusually quiet. Instead, the Quidditch pitch was roaring with noise.

It hit Wade— Gryffindor vs. Slytherin match is still going on!

Likely because of the stormy weather, the Seekers were struggling to find the Snitch, causing the game to drag on from morning until now.

But he only had twenty minutes.

Without wasting time, Wade mounted his broom and flew straight through the window of the infirmary.

Madam Pomfrey, who had been tending to a student with a cold, nearly jumped out of her skin.

"Wade Grey? You should be using the door—"

She almost spilled a potion onto her patient's head. But when she saw the urgency in Wade's expression, she immediately stopped speaking.

Pulling the curtain closed around the bed, she strode over to him and asked in a low voice, "What happened, child?"

"Madam Pomfrey, if someone had their heart and kidneys removed, lost a massive amount of blood, and then got their organs back within a short time—how could they be saved?"

Wade spoke quickly. "I need potions that can heal such injuries."

Hearing such an outrageous question, Madam Pomfrey didn't scold him. Instead, she studied Wade's eyes carefully before asking:

"Where is the patient?"

"In the future," Wade replied. "It hasn't happened yet."

"You're not joking with me, are you?" she asked with a frown. "Are you serious?"

"I'm very serious." Wade pulled out the golden key Dumbledore had given him. "I'm here on Dumbledore's orders."

At the sight of the key, Madam Pomfrey's expression shifted again.

"Such horrific injuries won't be fixed with just a few potions. What you need—is me."

Without hesitation, she tore off her apron and tossed it aside. With a flick of her wand, the shelves in the corner rattled as bottles, glowing silver instruments, and various potion jars flew into the air and clattered onto the counter.

In mere seconds, they had all been neatly packed into a small, compact medical case.

The student in the hospital bed had just finished drinking a potion, and smoke was rising from her head.

Curious, she pulled back a corner of the curtain to peek at the two people talking outside.

"Oh, right. Severus has a few vials of a rare Blood-Replenishing Potion, brewed with basilisk blood. He's been reluctant to use them, but now is the time."

As Madam Pomfrey spoke, she flicked her wand again. A silvery object shot out through the window and disappeared.

"There, I've sent him a message. Once Severus delivers the potions, we'll set off."

She said it so briskly that Wade was momentarily at a loss for words, stunned by how swiftly she took action.

"Did Dumbledore give any other instructions?" Madam Pomfrey asked.

Wade shook his head. "No."

"When do we leave?"

"In about thirteen minutes."

"What exactly did you encounter?"

Wade hesitated for a moment, but since Dumbledore hadn't mentioned keeping the matter secret—and given how many children had suffered—it was unlikely to remain hidden.

So, he gave a quick, concise explanation of their findings.

Even though he didn't describe every horrific detail he had witnessed, just the mention of organ trafficking was enough for Madam Pomfrey to grasp the full horror of the situation.

"Vile, despicable scum! How dare they… how dare they treat children like this!"

Her face turned pale with fury, her nostrils flared and eyes burned with rage—so much so that even Snape, who had just arrived in the rain, was taken aback.

He had originally been prepared to refuse her request outright. But now, seeing her reaction, he hesitated before cautiously saying:

"Poppy, I don't have many vials of that potion myself. I can give you one… maybe two. But honestly, using such precious potions on a bunch of reckless little brats—it's really unnecessary… a complete waste…"

His voice trailed off as he finally noticed Wade standing nearby and froze for a moment.

"What happened?" he asked.
