It didn't take long, as the dull throbbing of a painful headache stopped me, breaking my concentration. The leaf fluttered down my face as the constant stream of chakra holding it in place faltered. Over time, I got used to these headaches, they were the precursor to full-blown exhaustion brought on by a lack of chakra in the body.
'That didn't last long, now did it,' I thought as I pulled over my skills tab and focused on the skills tab and focused on the Leaf concentration exercise.

'Hmm, the amount of experience I'm getting per second is diminishing with every level. Now, after expending a full 600 chakra, all I got was 15 exp progress for the next level, even though the cost to use this skill has gone down and I'm holding up the leaf for almost 3 times as long as when I first started.' I quickly calculated my losses and gains. It was getting to the point where using my chakra for this exercise felt like a waste, but I also had no other way to use it.
One of the reasons I hadn't tried some of the C-rank jutsu that I had gathered from the black market was simply because I didn't trust which ones of them were harmful or not. Being the son of the Daimyo meant that I had some advantages, and that had resulted in being able to collect a lot of scrolls for different ninjutsu.
The problem, though, was that the jutsu I owned were the property of either shinobi clans or the Ninja villages, and according to the pact signed, or rather enforced by Hashirama. Nobles, while they enjoyed the power and luxury they were born with, couldn't exactly meddle in shinobi matters, and neither could they learn any Nin/Genjutsu.
'Which makes sense why all of the Daimyo shown in the show, none of them used chakra. Hashirama was a sly one, while giving the Daimyo powers over their respective reason, he also took away their path to progress.' I thought, but that didn't matter to me. As soon as I enter the academy, those rules adhered to by the family holding me back would be obsolete, and I could pursue those scrolls however I saw fit, even if half of them are likely going to be duds.
'I think I'm going to have to put a commission in with Konoha to identify which scrolls have authentic content.' It would be the easiest way to go around that restriction. As I mused over my future plans, I pulled up my current skills and affinity tab.

Considering I started with 0 affinities across the board, I'd say I've made quite a bit of progress. Each time I've had sex with a girl, this weird RPG setting has given me a choice to increase my affinity based on the random draw from her own pool. Which was both a good and a bad thing because most of the civilian courtesans didn't exactly have a lot of talent in shinobi arts.
'And that was why Tōu had been so important, I wouldn't have even half as much talent without her. Aside from her shoddy Fuinjutsu and Earth Release, she had quite a bit of talent that she never explored.'
Affinity was important because when my Yin Release went from not being on the list to four, the rate at which I gained exp from Leaf control exercises received a percentage boost, an eight percent increase to be exact. That might seem small, but it could be massively rewarding in the long run.
'Which meant that it was advisable not to waste any time.' I decided, as I quickly hopped off the bed and walked over toward the bathroom. Cleaning my face to wash off the travel fatigue, I looked over myself one more time before I left my house.
'With no other choice, let's just gamble on luck for now,' I thought as I traveled through the bustling village. With the sun set, the village had its own unique beauty. Unpolluted by the Industrial Revolution, the sky offered a sea of stars that was mesmerizing to look at.
As I admired the beauty of Konoha under lamps and dim lights, I bumped into someone familiar, and I had a feeling that this meeting wasn't exactly a coincidence.
"Don't tell me you missed me," I joked as I looked at the man who was staring at the same view not too far away from the Senju clan compound.
"Not really, kid. I just know where you are going and didn't want your first time exploring there to end in a disaster." Asuma exhaled a long drag of smoke as he looked at me. It took a moment for me to pinpoint what feedback my [Diplomat Lv 7] skill was giving me, but I quickly realized he was feeling blue.
"Reunion didn't exactly go as expected?" I asked as I started walking toward Konoha's red-light district.
"What reunion?" Asuma muttered, looking ahead and refusing to make eye contact once he realized I could see through his mask of detachment.
"..." I kept my mouth shut and just walked along. Maybe he wanted company and nothing else, or maybe it was the familiarity of the ritual... that's all. But as the lights started to brighten, I looked around at the unfamiliar names filtering all around me and turned to give the man a raised eyebrow.
"You choose, my treat."
