Chapter 369 - Chapter 369: The Canteen

After everyone from Lingxian Sect gathered on the floating island, they divided up the tasks and began working together. There was no need for Lin Xiao to personally oversee the construction of the new canteen and kitchen, as there were no special requirements, and everyone was capable of handling it on their own.

Considering that the canteen and kitchen needed to be easily accessible due to the frequent comings and goings on the floating island, they were built not too far from the Library Pavilion and the entrance to the island.

With the aid of magic, the brick kiln worked remarkably fast, producing high-quality, sturdy blue bricks. Ironhead's father, who had spent his life building houses for others, was overjoyed as he held one of the bricks he had personally fired, grinning from ear to ear.

Old Master Lin, along with Lin Yun and Lin Lei, had been working around the clock for the past two days, crafting numerous tables and chairs, which were now neatly arranged on the nearby open ground, awaiting a final coat of oil.

Yang Jinshu, along with a few of the sect's women, had purchased a set of finely crafted bowls and chopsticks, as well as some tablecloths and vases to decorate the dining area.

Everything was ready, just waiting for the canteen to be completed so that the items could be placed inside.

While some members were heading down the island to bring more materials, others had already begun the enthusiastic construction of the canteen on the chosen site.

The canteen was designed according to the group's shared preferences, while the kitchen was built entirely based on Jiang Youfu's suggestions.

With everyone working together, it took less than two days to finish the canteen and kitchen. Lin Yan and a group of young women went out to pick wildflowers, arranging them beautifully in the vases placed throughout the new building.

Seeing the canteen they had built with their own hands, everyone was filled with pride and joy.

That evening, Jiang Youfu personally selected some of the finest ingredients from the sect's storage and, using all his culinary skills, prepared a grand feast for everyone.

That meal was especially satisfying for everyone. Several of the sect's Qi Refining disciples even broke through minor realms that very night, while others, though not breaking through, saw significant progress in their cultivation.

The following day, Liao Pantou sought out Lin Xiao, informing him that he had cleared the space and was ready for the medicine garden to be moved.

Meanwhile, there was still no word from Xiao Luan about Yuan Qing emerging from the Heart-Testing Path.

Lin Xiao followed Elder Liao into the small world and saw that a space had indeed been cleared. After inspecting the area, he turned to Liao Pantou and asked with a smile, "Elder, did you perhaps measure the exact size of your medicine garden and then clear this space to match it perfectly?"

Liao Pantou, standing with his hands behind his back, snorted lightly, "What else did you expect? I've studied this land carefully. The soil here is especially suitable for growing these flowers, so it's best not to disturb it. But I also couldn't bear to part with my medicine garden, so I reluctantly made some space. But don't worry, I moved the flowers along with their soil, so they're still in good condition."

He then urged Lin Xiao, "Come on, come on, move my medicine garden here quickly."

Amused by Liao Pantou's urgency, Lin Xiao opened the Floating Island Control Panel, selected the option to move the medicine garden, and immediately received the system prompt:

Please select the new location for the building.

A translucent outline of the medicine garden appeared before Lin Xiao, rotating and adjusting as he moved it around. With minimal effort, he aligned the outline with the cleared area Elder Liao had prepared.

It was a perfect fit, seamlessly blending with the surrounding flower fields. Lin Xiao couldn't help but admire Liao Pantou's meticulousness in certain matters.

He confirmed the placement.

Transferring building. Please wait...

Lin Xiao turned to Liao Pantou. "It'll be ready in a moment."

Just as he finished speaking, the once-empty space was now occupied by the sect's medicine garden.

Transfer complete.

Even Liao Pantou, who had witnessed many of Lin Xiao's abilities, was momentarily taken aback. After a brief pause, he regained his composure, but the smile on his face couldn't be hidden. With great satisfaction, he walked forward to inspect his garden.

As he walked, he waved back at Lin Xiao, "All set here. I've got work to do, so go ahead and tend to your matters."

Watching Elder Liao contain his excitement, Lin Xiao smiled and shook his head before leaving the small world and returning to the floating island.

The floating island now looked vastly different from when it first appeared. It wasn't just the addition of Lingyun Mountain, the Library Pavilion, and the canteen. Various areas had been landscaped with flowers, trees, and ornamental rocks.

Lin Xiao guessed that Yang Aunty had likely guided everyone in designing the layout, as the results were quite aesthetically pleasing.

A small pond had been dug near Lingyun Mountain, where the waterfall's stream cascaded down. Several lotus leaves floated on the surface, and two tender pink lotus buds peeked out from the water.

Out of curiosity, Lin Xiao opened the floating island's panel and saw that the spiritual energy density, which had risen to 78 after the addition of Lingyun Mountain, had now increased to 111!

And it had only been a few days.

At this rate, it might not be long before Lingyun Mountain could generate its own spiritual vein.

Though the floating island still had a long way to go before it could be considered truly prosperous, it was already worlds apart from the barren land it once was.

Feeling content, Lin Xiao took a portion of the materials left by everyone, stored them in his private storage, and headed toward the former location of the medicine garden.

It was time to build the breeding facility!

Unlike the single-structure buildings like the Library Pavilion or the cultivation rooms, the breeding facility would be more like Elder Liao's medicine garden—a self-sustaining ecosystem. This setup would allow the spirit beasts to live and heal on their own, minimizing the need for caretakers.

After all, manpower was in short supply at Lingxian Sect.

While building projects like the canteen were one-time tasks, maintaining a breeding facility would be an ongoing responsibility. With so few people, everyone already had their hands full managing spiritual plants, producing goods like talismans, pills, and formations, and cultivating.

Fortunately, the sect members were all hardworking and didn't mind the extra work, often performing the tasks of several people without complaint. But even though they were willing, as the sect leader, Lin Xiao couldn't ignore the strain on manpower.

Therefore, the breeding facility had to be self-sustaining. The spirit beasts would need a large, enclosed space, with their food sources planted within, so they could handle their own survival needs.

After all, they were spirit beasts, seasoned survivors in the cultivation world. A small issue like feeding themselves shouldn't be beyond their capabilities, right?
