No one knows what I have planned to do and started looking at me with disdain thinking I am weak, unable to kill a single pigmen in the attack. They think I am only good with my sensing ability that can deduct the movements and power-levels within 20 meter radius which is only one of my talents.
When everyone is getting ready to get some rest after sorting their spoils of the battle and using the healing potions to heal the minor injuries they have received, I see Jack coming to me with a smile on his face, which I haven't seen from the time we started for this assessment.
He comes to me and checks if I am okay or if anything is bothering me as he knows I didn't give my all in this battle and I am distracted by something. He then gives me a full one hour lecture of how important this assessment is for me and how focused I should be to pass it. I listened with full attention and nodded my head at the right times.
After the long lecture, he leaves with a satisfied smile on his face knowing I have listened to each and every word he said. Only I know what I am going to do and how this dungeon raid will end for me.
It took us another two days for us to reach the preplanned coordinates to meet-up with all the squads after clearing the smaller camps to regroup before attacking the main camp at the centre of the dungeon and killing the boss.
We had to wait for another day for all the squads to arrive and I calculated that about one tenth of the soldiers had been killed or too injured to continue the raid and left the dungeon to get healed.
I helped the squads to scout the surroundings of the main camp of the pigmen and their patrol rotations and how well they defended it. This gave the elites and Jack with the best experience to device a good strategy for the attack to destroy the camp and kill the main boss of the dungeon.
The dungeon boss was a pigman in High E-Grade and was very hard for the elites to kill, but they were able to kill him after ganging on him for more than an hour. The boss has been storing many resources and equipment that is shared easily by all the soldiers who took part in this raid.
The dungeon still has two days before it closes which gives us enough time to stroll through the dungeon to check if we can find something that can be useful to us with a rule of 'Finders Keepers'.
I strolled around the dungeon with Vimal as this is the first time inside a dungeon for us and I am eager to know what are the treasures a dungeon holds for us, especially this dungeon which is like an open world.
On the eleventh day of the dungeon, we both stumble upon a tree that looks different from the trees that are around it, with ull vitality and spirit. Immediately I realized it is a 'Tree of Wonder' which is one of the treasures the dungeons have.
This Tree of Wonder bears the 'Fruit of Wonder' which will increase the combat power of the awakened in one way or the other when they consume it and can be sold or auctioned at a high price at the markets that can have the person selling or auctioning them to have a luxurious lifestyle.
Looks like our luck is high as I can see three ripe dark grey Fruits of Wonder which will change the Grade upgrades to Combat Power as per the System we have.
This will help us to increase our combat power by a huge margin as the level-ups and grade-ups will be changed in a way where we will have to wait for them to get a power boost one at a time, but will be increasing gradually through our training and battle.
This will also help me to come out of the restrictions I have for the skill purchase as I will not be having grades or levels anymore after consuming this fruit.
Seeing the Tree of Wonder and the Fruits of Wonder, Vimal lunges towards it, but I manage to hold him by his shoulder as the Tree of Wonder attracts monsters which will safeguard the tree and fruit until all ripe to consume because of their increased intelligence.
If that is done by the monsters, the pigmen who are as smart as humans will have kept a higher security or even traps for this tree so others will not be able to approach it and gain the benefits from it.
Vimal looks angrily at me for holding him and looks at me with anger, but calms down after I explain the reason for stopping him approaching the tree blindly with no preparation which might lead to amputation or at rare occasions, death.
We look around the tree and approach it with caution and focusing on our surroundings to make sure there are no traps or hidden monsters or pigmen in the vicinity of the tree.
It took us about two hours to cross a hundred meters with the cautious steps we took and grabbed the three fruits from the tree. There are five more fruits on the trees, but it was not ripe enough for us to eat and will cause us more trouble if we eat them.
Vimal plucks one of the ripe fruits and gobbles it immediately as if it will be spoiled within a second if not consumed. I pluck one fruit and keep it inside the holowatch storage to consume it later when I am in a place that is away from anyone.
I look back at Vimal who is standing still with his eyes open as if he is frozen by a strong Ice skill which makes me worried. I touch his hand and find his body is completely frozen, but is still warm enough to keep him alive.
I immediately took the blue flare gun given to us by Jack before we started exploring the dungeon and fired it in the sky to let him know I needed his help.
