Chapter 384, The Disappearance of Kalema
Shanaila looked at him in surprise.
Then she reached out and touched his forehead, "Are you okay?"
"I'm serious!"
"Don't you have Minnie and the others with you? How can you joke about something like this?" Shanaila said, a bit sternly.
She clearly didn't believe that he had reached level 15.
Wu Heng held her hand and said, "I'm serious, why would I lie to you? Didn't you say you had a tool to verify levels? Take it out, I'll prove it to you."
He didn't feel any resentment toward Shanaila for not believing him.
Under normal circumstances, considering the time he had been a professional, and his background, it was impossible for him to reach level 15 so quickly.
Hearing that he wanted to use the tool for verification.
Seeing the seriousness in his tone, Shanaila, even though it was against common sense, began to feel a bit of doubt.
"Are you serious?" she asked.
"Yes!" Wu Heng nodded.
"Then wait here!" Shanaila jumped back to her rooftop and hurried downstairs.
Not long after, she returned.
She handed him a crystal, engraved with runes, its surface shimmering.
The front of the crystal was marked with divisions, like a ruler, split into five segments.
"Hold it, and connect to it mentally."
Wu Heng held the crystal, his mental power attempting to connect.
The next moment, the crystal in his hand began to glow from the bottom, slowly climbing until it stopped at the fourth division.
Shanaila, watching the crystal, was filled with shock and disbelief.
She quickly covered the crystal, cautiously scanning the surroundings.
Checking if any tamed beasts were nearby.
Even when they were on a date, she hadn't been this nervous.
After confirming there was nothing suspicious, she widened her eyes and asked, "How did you do it?"
As far as she remembered, Wu Heng was only 24 years old.
A 24-year-old human professional from a small town, reaching level 15, Tier-Four.
How was this possible?
But the proof was right in front of her, and she had to accept it.
"It's all because of your encouragement that I finally reached level 15," Wu Heng said.
Shanaila's cheeks turned slightly red. Although she loved hearing this, leveling up wasn't something that could happen just through motivation.
"If you don't want to tell me, fine, but don't let anyone else know about this."
"I know, I only told you." Wu Heng pulled her closer, holding her waist tightly, and continued, "But what about your promise?"
Shanaila's face flushed, and she hesitated, "Let's talk about it later. You leveled up too quickly."
Wu Heng tightened his hold around her waist and leaned down to kiss her lips.
Shanaila gently pounded on his chest, her body melting into his.
Her body gradually softened, her heartbeat growing stronger.
Catching her breath during a pause, she said, "It's chilly outside. Let's go to my place."
Wu Heng nodded and let her lead him, jumping back to her rooftop.
Quietly, they entered her bedroom.
...
Shanaila's bedroom was spacious.
It looked as though two rooms had been merged.
A large bed with white gauze curtains stood in the room, and beyond a divider, there was a small study, with many oil paintings hanging on the walls.
He took a quick glance, and before she could speak, Wu Heng picked her up and placed her on the bed.
Half-heartedly resisting, Shanaila let her nightgown slip away.
She covered her private parts with her hands, curling up on the bed, shy yet slightly expectant.
Wu Heng glanced at her exposed body.
Her muscles were firm, well-defined.
Even a sculptor couldn't capture such fluid natural beauty.
She felt embarrassed but couldn't look away.
Was this really a mage?
Wu Heng saw her staring and instinctively touched himself, "What's wrong?"
Shanaila turned her head quickly, "Nothing, just... you don't look like a mage."
Wu Heng smiled, pulling her arms away and placing them on his chest, "Wanna touch?"
"What are you doing!" Shanaila's face turned redder, but she cautiously began to feel his muscles.
"How does it feel?"
Shanaila turned her head, "Next time I paint a figure, you'll be my model."
"Alright, but I'll need some payment in advance."
Wu Heng gently pressed against her, kissing down her neck.
"Mmm~!" Shanaila moaned softly.
Her arms gently pushed against his chest.
...
The next morning.
Shanaila, in a cream-colored bathrobe, walked out of the bathroom.
Standing in front of the silver mirror, she gently combed her loose hair.
She turned her head, touching the love marks on her neck.
"Up so early!" Wu Heng approached from behind, hugging her waist.
Shanaila kept brushing her hair, "You never let me rest; how could I sleep in?"
Wu Heng smiled, looking at her reflection, whispering, "You're so beautiful."
"You and your sweet words."
Wu Heng made a slight gesture, and the belt around Shanaila's waist loosened, her robe parting to reveal her smooth, flat stomach.
"Ah~!" Shanaila moved to cover herself.
The belt wrapped around her wrists, lifting her arms high.
"What are you doing, it's morning!" Shanaila complained, her upper body pressed against the mirror, her hips slightly tilted back.
...
Afternoon.
A knock on the door, the housekeeper's voice came through.
"Madam, you haven't eaten all day."
Shanaila lay back on the desk, panting lightly, tapping Wu Heng's chest.
She said, "Bring it in."
Wu Heng was startled, "What?!"
"It's fine!"
The door opened, and the housekeeper walked in.
She ignored the two on the desk and placed the prepared meal on the table beside the bed.
She then tidied up the room a bit.
And left quietly.
Wu Heng asked in surprise, "Isn't this a bit much?"
"We have a slave contract; there's nothing to worry about," Shanaila said.
"But being seen is still a bit awkward."
"One day, you'll be her master too, so why worry! Even if you're not yet in name," Shanaila smiled softly.
"Oh, alright." Wu Heng picked her up, moved to the table, and they ate their dinner together intimately.
"Why are you like an animal, never stopping?" Shanaila lay exhausted on the bed, complaining.
"Think about how long I waited for you."
"Ugh." Shanaila rolled her eyes, "I have things to handle tomorrow. You can't stay here tonight, or I won't sleep a wink."
Wu Heng nodded, "Alright, then come find me when you're done."
"No way, it'd be too embarrassing if Minnie saw me."
"What's there to be afraid of? In their eyes, you're the mistress too."
Shanaila blushed, feeling a little pleased, "We'll see about that."
They talked for a while longer before Wu Heng got dressed.
He gave her a light kiss on the cheek, waved goodbye, and left the room.
Climbing over the rooftop, he returned to his place.
...
The increase in Constitution was already making itself felt.
Even after a full day and night, he didn't feel too tired.
He first went to the radio room on the third floor, confirming there were no messages from "Philippa."
Then headed downstairs.
In the dining room, Minnie and Andviel were eating.
Seeing him come down, Minnie stood up to fetch a bowl and chopsticks.
"I've already eaten, you two continue," Wu Heng said.
"Oh, Master ate outside," Minnie sat back down, continuing her meal.
Wu Heng sat on the sofa nearby.
Andviel said, "Master, Assistant Moya was looking for you today, asked you to visit the guild tomorrow."
Moya was looking for him?
"Do you know what it's about?"
"It might be related to that inspector envoy from last time. I'm not entirely sure," Andviel thought for a moment before replying.
Kalema!
It seemed news of his death had finally reached them.
"Alright, we'll go together tomorrow."
"Yes, Master."
After dinner.
They chatted in the living room for a while.
Wu Heng then headed upstairs, and the two girls exchanged a glance, following him up.
In the bedroom.
Minnie and Andviel lay on either side of the bed, resting their chins on their hands, watching the sleeping Wu Heng.
"Why is Master sleeping so early today?" Minnie wondered, chin in hand.
Andviel, on the other side, whispered, "Keep your voice down; maybe he's just tired."
"Master really works too hard. If it's too much, why not stop being a deputy steward and stay home with us every day?" Minnie suggested.
Andviel gently pinched her cheek, "How do you think we live like this now? Plus, Master will only rise higher in status. He can't just stay home with you every day."
"I was just saying, why take it so seriously."
Andviel smiled, "I'm worried you're still too young to understand."
"Who's young! I'm older than you, alright."
They whispered for a while, then leaned back.
Closing their eyes, they soon fell asleep.
...
The next day, at the guild.
In the steward's study.
"Steward, you were looking for me?" Wu Heng said as he entered.
Imiro spoke directly, "Kalema is missing."
