Chapter 381, Level 15 Transformation
Wu Heng held her chin with his fingers, lowering his head to kiss her.
Shanaila was a bit flustered, her eyes occasionally darting towards the window.
Through the glass, she could still see the two maids playing happily outside. Clearly, he didn't intend to hide this at all.
Her heart pounded, her face growing increasingly red.
She still parted her lips slightly.
It had been days since they had seen each other, and both missed one another deeply.
"Sister Shanaila, aren't you done talking yet?"
Minnie's voice came from the courtyard.
Shanaila turned her head, licking her moist lips.
She held Wu Heng's face and said, "Level 15 as promised, work hard!"
"I'm almost there!"
"Bragging!" Shanaila said, pecking him lightly again, then straightening her clothes before quickly walking out.
...
The next day, at the Guild.
Outside the steward's study.
Wu Heng knocked lightly on the door, and after receiving a response, walked in directly.
Inside, Imiro was sitting behind the desk, as usual, flipping through the documents in his hands.
Moya was also nearby, organizing the materials on the bookshelf.
"What's up?" Imiro looked up at him.
Wu Heng said directly, "Yesterday, I delivered supplies to that pirate informant. On my way back, I was attacked by a pirate group. They received the blank letter's information and came to intercept the cargo ship I had sent out."
Hearing that he had delivered supplies, Imiro frowned.
He asked, "What are your thoughts?"
"My cargo ship left Gold-Silver Island on short notice, yet they knew my route and approximate timing. I suspect it might be linked to the port," Wu Heng shared his idea.
It was just a suspicion.
If it was due to some artifact or tool, there was no way to trace it.
The port was the only thing he could deduce.
Imiro nodded, pondered for a while, and said, "Your assumption is plausible, but using just this to mobilize all pirates seems a bit far-fetched. Otherwise, bribing the port authority would become the main source of intelligence for pirates."
"Mm, I was just putting forward a possibility."
Imiro said, "I'll have a squad check it out, but until we have solid intel, don't make any big moves on the island."
"Alright." Wu Heng nodded and continued, "I also killed a captain of the Rapier pirate group, a Level 3 bounty. The cargo ship was plundered by 'Philipa'. If it gets out that he died by my hand, some might deduce my connection to Philipa."
"You want the autopsy process kept under wraps?"
"Yes, the Rapier pirate's death can be pinned on anyone, just not now." Wu Heng said.
"Moya, you handle this. Record the body first, and revoke the bounty after a week." Imiro said directly.
"Understood!" Moya came over and looked at Wu Heng, "Where's the body?"
"In this spatial ring."
"Bring it out, hand it over to me."
The two of them left the study, and Wu Heng pulled out the body wrapped in straw matting.
Moya took it and headed towards the morgue.
Wu Heng returned to the study.
Imiro continued to ask, "How is that pirate lady of yours progressing?"
Sending a whole ship of supplies for her to plunder.
Probably the most outrageous informant in the entire Guild.
"Not bad, she's sent back some intelligence bit by bit, but her pirate group is too small, so she hasn't come into contact with high-level pirate groups' intel yet," Wu Heng said.
Imiro glanced at the documents in his hand.
Then he said, "Alright, if your pirate lady can provide three pieces of Level 3 bounty-worthy intel, I'll arrange for her to join the Whisperers, give her an official identity."
Hearing this, Wu Heng was pleasantly surprised.
Becoming a Whisperer meant truly having an official identity, making it easier to disassociate from being a pirate, and it also meant being able to seek shelter at any Guild branch if danger arose.
Speaking of which, he had some prior contact with Lilith, the head of the Whisperers.
In a way, she owed him a favor.
Writing to Lilith and asking her to place Philipa in the Whisperers wouldn't be difficult.
Now with Steward Imiro taking care of it, even better.
"Then I thank the steward on behalf of Philipa."
"Mm, try not to leave the island if there's nothing pressing."
"Alright!"
With matters settled, Wu Heng left the room.
...
Just outside the door.
He saw Sheila Grey approaching.
The two greeted each other, and Sheila Grey walked in.
Wu Heng thought for a moment and waited by the door. Soon, Sheila Grey came out of the study.
"Waiting for me?" Sheila Grey asked.
"Uh, you got anything going on? Mind if I hang out at your place for a bit?"
"Sure, let's go!"
The two went to Sheila Grey's study.
Wu Heng sat on the sofa, while Sheila Grey sat opposite, asking, "Is it about the cursed sword again?"
"No, I wanted to ask about Level 15 Professionals. Everyone says there's a fundamental improvement at Level 15, but I don't quite understand what that means," Wu Heng asked directly.
He hadn't originally thought to ask.
After all, he was almost at Level 15; he'd find out soon enough.
But since he ran into Sheila Grey, he figured he might as well ask.
He had some understanding in his mind.
Sheila Grey looked at him with some suspicion, "Do you really not know, or are you testing me? Don't you mages ever read?"
Uh...
Wu Heng thought for a moment and said, "I come from a small place. All the books I got were from the Guild here. I don't have as broad a knowledge base as you think, and it's not like every mage is a scholar. Some of us, like me, fall through the cracks."
Pfft~!
Sheila Grey chuckled; she had never seen anyone downplay themselves like this.
Then she said, "Yes, there's a saying that Level 15 is the turning point for all professions. Reaching this level brings changes, but it's not as exaggerated as the rumors say."
"So, what are the changes?"
Sheila Grey continued, "First, there's a change in titles. For instance, a Pugilist reaching Level 15 would be called a Grand Pugilist. It represents reaching Level 15 and achieving a certain level of accomplishment. In terms of physical changes, Grand Pugilists gain the Immortal Body, with abundant vitality that prevents aging. Even at several hundred years old, they still maintain a relatively youthful appearance."
"Immortal Body? Do they become immortal?"
"Not really, it just means they don't show obvious signs of aging. But once their lifespan is up, they still die naturally. The important part is the abundant vitality, making them even stronger in combat," Sheila Grey explained.
Wu Heng nodded, indicating he understood.
According to his panel, it meant reaching this level unlocked a special ability.
Pugilists unlocked the Immortal Body, maintaining their vitality for battle.
Their appearance would also change.
"What about mages?"
"I don't know much about mages, but I've heard two theories. One is the Master Spellcaster, which likely means changes in spell power. The second is related to your schools of magic, which I'm not too sure about," Sheila Grey thought for a moment and answered.
Wu Heng nodded, indicating he understood.
Reaching Level 15 in any profession was already considered a high achievement.
It garnered admiration and respect from others.
"Are you about to reach Level 15?" Sheila Grey asked after explaining.
"No way, I'm just in my twenties!"
"No rush, being a deputy steward in your twenties is already impressive. Reaching Level 15 in the future isn't impossible," Sheila Grey consoled.
"Mm!" Wu Heng nodded, then asked, "Any updates on the cursed sword?"
"No updates yet. I'll let you know when there's news."
"Want to grab a meal later?"
Sheila Grey rolled her eyes at him, "Maybe some other time."
Wu Heng then chatted with her about pirate affairs.
With nothing else to discuss, he left.
Returning to the study, he greeted Andviel.
Then returned to his residence.
...
Minnie was watering flowers in the courtyard.
Waving at her, Wu Heng went directly to the fourth floor.
He opened the portal to the Zombie World.
On the other side was still the manager's office. He looked down the hallway at the vehicles queued up to exchange grain.
He took out the walkie-talkie and pressed the button, "Qi Hancai!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Prepare the convoy, we're heading out to clear zombies."
"Understood!"
Wu Heng went downstairs, got into a vehicle, and headed towards the zombie area.
