Home sweet home.
Well, kind of home. About as close to home as Gray could get in this world anyway.
He glanced around the surface of Planet Vegeta, his Saiyan pod sitting in a small crater behind him as another shorter Saiyan ran up to bring the pod in for repairs and cleaning. Fasha had gone ahead to give her mission report, muttering something about a 'bald-headed bastard' as she did.
To his side, a quest notification sat - having appeared the second he set foot on Planet Vegeta.

The list carried on for a long time, stretching down literally into the floor as it listed out all the potential opponents he could've beaten for the hidden quest. As Gray stared at the rewards list, he grinned widely.
These rewards are fuckin' insane.
The biggest boost were the attribute points - of which he now had a whopping 1,700 of.
If I dumped those all into my stats right now, my power level would almost triple.
Beyond that, he was one step closer to getting a [Godly] or [World-Breaking] perk and skill. His coins had also doubled, and he had enough XP to level up again. Overall, the quest rewards were definitely worth the deadly mission.
Especially for one glaring gain - the coins.
A Earth Dragon Ball set was only 6,000,000 coins.
He'd actually been over the threshold to buy a wish from Shenron for a little while, but he hadn't considered dumping all of his coins into it yet. There was a lot to consider in regards to the wish he would make and with how that wish could backfire.
I need to be careful. I don't know how otherworld works, or if I'll go there if I die. If my soul does go there, then immortality might not be the best wish at the moment.
His biggest concern came from his own immortality being used against him. If he was still a speck of dust compared to the Frieza, then his immortality wouldn't save him, and it might actually fuck him over.
If he died and was sent to otherworld, there was an opportunity to be revived. If he couldn't die and Frieza beat his ass them trapped him in some insane shit, he would be fucked. The only fate worse than death was ending up like Garlic Jr. - immortal and trapped far away from any living creature in a dark void.
So, the wish for immortality would have to wait. Gray wanted to be confident that he was strong enough that no one could beat him handily before he used it.
Though, if I had known what the hidden conditions were, I would've tried to complete them a bit harder.
But they were 'hidden' rewards for a reason. There was no point being regretful over something he didn't know about.
There was also another notification buried under the long list:

"Where were you?" Gray glanced to his side, spotting a blank-faced Celia speed walking over to him. She must've sensed his Ki signature arriving.
"Got lost," Gray shrugged in response.
"You… got lost?" Celia tilted her head at him cutely, looking confused, "For this long?"
"My pod was damaged," Gray answered blandly, "I crash landed on a planet and had to wait until it was repaired."
Celia opened her mouth again, looking like she was going to ask another question, but then closed it as she decided something else was more important at the moment.
"Follow me," She turned around, her legs tensing as she started to float into the air, "Father was furious when you didn't arrive with the rest of us. He wanted to see you as soon as you got back. You can reunite with everyone else after."
Gray simply nodded, following after her as she shot into the air and toward King Vegeta's palace. With how fast both of them could fly, even at a leisurely pace, it was a pretty short trip filled with only a few words. Gray silently cursed his own immense speed as he followed behind Celia, only have less than a minute to admire her round rear from behind.
They soon landed in front of the towering palace, and she quickly led him toward the throneroom.
"I don't know what he'll say," Celia warned him bluntly, pausing in the hallway leading to the throne room as she glanced back at him, "If he asks for something ridiculous, I'll try to intervene. Besides that, I'll trust you to handle it."
"Fine by me," Gray hummed in response, nodding at her, "It'll be fine."
Compared to the nervous person he had been when meeting King Vegeta for the first time, when he had a mere power level in the low millions, he was far stronger - and more confident.
I don't need to be afraid of him.
Gray suspected that the Saiyan King was still stronger than him, considering someone like Kale, who was just joining the S-Class, was still around 3 billion in power level. But that didn't mean he was afraid. There was a big difference between facing down a stronger opponent and facing down someone who could snap their fingers and kill you.
Celia led him forward, placing her hand on the door and shoving open the towering double doors. They both stepped through, and Gray took in the sight of the throne room. It was the same as it had been the previous time he was in it, and King Vegeta was once again sitting loftly on his massive throne.
Now, let's see how much ground I have to climb. Observe.

A fuckin' lot, huh? Though…
The Saiyan King was still far stronger than Gray was currently - with his power level sitting at a bit over 5x his, but it wasn't as big as it seemed. If Gray put his unused attribute points into his stats, then King Vegeta's power level would only be around 2x as high.
Not a small gap by any means, but a manageable one.
Gray still didn't like his odds against the man, but defeat wasn't guaranteed. And, with a fair bit more training and another couple of quests, he'd seriously be stronger than the Saiyan King.
"Father," Celia greeted, nodding at King Vegeta, "Gray has arrived back on Planet Vegeta. I have brought him."
Gray silently nodded respectfully to the King as well. It wouldn't be good to piss him off right as he got back to Planet Vegeta.
"Gray," King Vegeta hummed, staring at Gray with an interested look in his eyes, "Did you enjoy Planet Earth?"
"I did," Gray said simply, not saying more than he needed to. He wasn't sure if the King was mocking him with the question, as he had sent Gray to Earth on what was essentially a suicide mission, or if he was genuinely asking.
"You did far better than I expected," King Vegeta said bluntly, staring down at Gray from his throne, "You not only survived, but I hear you've taken down a person of importance on the planet as well."
Gray glanced at Celia subtly from the corner of his eye, and she gave a miniscule, nearly unnoticeable, shake of her head - confirming to Gray that she hadn't told her Father and that he really did have spies on the planet.
"I just did what I thought was best," Gray downplayed his achievement, "It was a joint effort with Commander Cui."
"Don't lie to me," King Vegeta snapped, his Ki expanding out into the room in an instant, causing Gray to tense.
Ah… I feel it now.
Next to him, Celia's legs shook as she barely resisted falling to the floor in a kneel. Gray recalled the last time he had met King Vegeta - when the King had done the very same thing with his Ki, causing both Celia and Raditz to kneel. However, at that time, Gray had barely felt anything.
But, it wasn't because of the system, or because I was special.
Gray understood now as he felt a massive weight dragging down at his shoulders. It wasn't that he hadn't been affected by King Vegeta's massive Ki before - it was that he couldn't even feel it. Not because of his strength - no, he was simply too weak to even know what was happening.
A lot's changed, huh? I was stupid and arrogant back then.
It was a bit embarrassing to think back on. After taking down Kolra, Gray wouldn't say he had become stupid, but simply overconfident. He had stared down a King that could squash him like a bug and had given serious thought to whether he could beat him or not. He had wondered how he'd fair against someone whose Ki was so grand that Gray didn't even know he was surrounded by an ocean of it.
"Sorry," Gray simply grinned up at King Vegeta's words, "I enjoy being humble."
King Vegeta stared back at him blankly for a second, but then simply gave a light scoff.
"For your efforts, I'll reward you," He said abruptly, and Gray's eyes widened.
Reward?
What the hell kind of reward was he about to received from the literal King of his race?
A damn good one, I hope!
"Congratulations," King Vegeta hummed idly, his lips twitching upward into a large smirk-grin mixture, "You have been promoted to S-Class."
Gray blinked, staring at the King blankly.
