The High Underworld was in complete chaos.
The red skies of the Christian Hell had been overrun by thousands of unknown demonic creatures, emerging through spatial rifts and advancing toward cities scattered across the infernal realms. Explosions illuminated the horizon as emergency sirens echoed through the streets and defense systems activated throughout every inhabited region.
Sparda, however, was far from falling.
The city had entered a state of total defense. Enormous magical barriers protected the residential districts, while squadrons of demons and Valkyries patrolled the skies, intercepting any creatures that managed to breach the first lines of protection.
And frankly, the invasion attempt was pathetic.
A formation of hundreds of demons advanced toward the city's central district, only to be completely destroyed by an enormous spear of crimson energy. The explosion tore through the enemy formation, pulverizing the creatures before they could reach the outer barrier.
