Chapter 597 - Toward Olympia

Using Senrigan, Charlie scanned and read the entire historical track record of Orario over the course of the past month.

In the blink of an eye, the information processed within his head, and he immediately pinpointed a striking difference compared to the original timeline he knew.

Without the tragedy of Ais's death, the Loki Familia had never gone wild nor created a massive uproar by scouring every single corner of the buildings in Orario.

Even so, the current atmosphere of the Labyrinth City was still in a massive uproar, though the trigger did not stem from the Loki Familia in the slightest.

The shocking news that the One-Eyed Black Dragon—the greatest threat sealed within the Dragon Valley—had been completely defeated finally reached Orario.

The impact of that news thoroughly shook anyone who heard it. Be it ordinary civilians, adventurers, or even the ranks of the gods themselves!

This situation could be likened to the moment someone wakes up on an ordinary morning, turns on the TV, and opens social media, only to find governments across the globe simultaneously announcing that humanity had just successfully repelled an alien fleet attempting to invade Earth.

That reality felt so surreal, utterly absurd, to the point of being hard to believe.

Such was the shock and disbelief experienced by every inhabitant of Orario upon hearing of the Black Dragon's defeat. What was more, the identity of the hero who executed the legendary monster remained completely anonymous.

Unsurprisingly, this state of affairs plunged the gods into a frustration bordering on madness. They were thoroughly obsessed and intensely thirsty to uncover the identity of the mysterious figure who had successfully wiped out the world's greatest threat.

"Huuuh... My decision to remain anonymous was truly the right call." Charlie muttered, shaking his head. "If those gods knew that I was the one who finished off the Black Dragon, my life here would definitely never know peace."

The corner of his eye twitched slightly as he observed the various outrageous acts and absurd tricks performed by the gods in an attempt to trace clues to the anonymous hero's whereabouts.

With his current scale of power, Charlie felt not a shred of fear even if he had to face all the gods unsealing their divinity and deploying Arcanum simultaneously.

The primary issue was not a matter of threat; rather, Charlie knew full well that most of the gods in this world were fundamentally not evil—they were merely bored immortals willing to do any eccentric thing for the sake of entertainment.

"It has been a long time since I last met Goddess Hera."

"Time to greet her."

As soon as that decision was made, Charlie's figure faded from atop the walls of Orario and vanished without leaving behind even the slightest trace of energy.

Olympia was situated extremely far outside the territory of Orario. To reach it, ordinary humans and adventurer groups alike had to undertake a cross-continental land journey that took an exceptionally long and grueling amount of time.

However, such geographical distance was no obstacle at all for Charlie.

One second prior he was still standing atop the walls of the City of Orario, and in the next second, his feet had already stepped onto Olympia.

For a 3-Digit domain entity like him, crossing from one end of a galaxy to another was merely a matter of a fleeting thought.

Let alone a mere intercontinental distance on a single planet?

Stepping out from a narrow alleyway, Charlie cast his gaze around, sweeping over his surroundings.

"Previously, I only observed this city from the outside when escorting Goddess Hera, because there was a powerful barrier enveloping the entire area of Olympia." He muttered softly to himself. "But seen up close... the atmosphere of this place really is vastly different from Orario."

Olympia was an independent territory that had grown and developed rapidly long before the era when the gods descended to the lower world, becoming widely known as the Capital of Flame.

This city was a sovereign nation that had firmly severed diplomatic relations with all other regions, making it inaccessible to outsiders at whim.

As the oldest city in the world, Olympia possessed historical traces even far older than Orario itself. The strict isolation it maintained for thousands of years cultivated a culture and atmosphere in stark contrast to civilizations in other parts of the world.

Multi-story buildings with cream-white and gray stone walls stood firm along clean, cobbled streets. The architecture of arched windows and domed corridors lent an authentic, classical, ancient charm.

Interestingly, not a single magic-stone lamp or technological streetlamp was installed here. In their place stood support pillars carved from stone holding torch basins along the roadside to illuminate every corner of the city, with the flare of blazing red flames fueled directly by the Primordial Flame.

Charlie stepped closer to one of the torch pillars on the side of the road. Tilting his head, he closely observed the burning red tongues of flame that continued to surge constantly without needing any supply of oil or firewood whatsoever.

"So this is the Primordial Flame stolen by Prometheus? Indeed... this isn't just an ordinary fire."

At a single glance, Charlie immediately sensed the conceptual uniqueness and supernatural energy contained within the Primordial Flame. The fire breathed and lived as if possessing a mind of its own.

However, the purpose of his arrival here was not to go on vacation as a tourist. Charlie quickly turned his face away and strode along the cobbled street toward the location of Hera's residence.

All along the way, most of the local residents of Olympia could be seen passing by dressed in traditional toga- or chiton-style attire—elegant, layered white cloth garments accented with gold or silver waistbands.

Naturally, Charlie's presence in a modern style of clothing stood out in stark contrast, instantly drawing public attention. Many pairs of local eyes glanced at him with looks of astonishment and curiosity, baffled by the sight of a stranger whose attire did not fit the ancient fashion standards of Olympia in the slightest.

Yet, it never crossed the minds of the locals that Charlie could be an intruder.

It should be noted that Olympia was protected by the Primordial Flame through a giant barrier spanning around the entire border of the nation.

That ancient barrier would instantly blast away or burn to ashes anyone who dared to touch it without permission—the primary reason behind Olympia's legendary reputation as a place that had never been successfully breached by anyone throughout history.

That conceptual barrier could not be opened at all, except by the Flame User themselves.

It was this blind faith in the strength of their supernatural protection that left the inhabitants without the slightest suspicion regarding the presence of an intruder in their midst. To them, anyone inside the city had to be a local resident or an authorized party.

Without any obstacles or interrogations, Charlie continued to stroll casually up the ascending street, climbing the hilly area toward the Great Temple—a majestic structure encased in giant stone pillars that could be clearly seen from any angle across the entire peninsula of Olympia.

Along the stone steps leading to the temple, he crossed paths with a group of priestesses walking gracefully in long white gowns, complete with beautifully looped laurel wreath crowns decorating their hair.

"Toga-style clothing, Doric-style pillars, and priestesses crowned with laurel wreaths..." Charlie muttered, a subtle smile curling on his lips. "The atmosphere of this place truly makes me feel as if I've been thrown back into the era of ancient Greece."
