"Look out!" Kasume, for about the tenth time, calls out as she tackles Kazuki. She topples on top of him, easily overpowering the scrawny boy. She giggles as she sits up, "Looks like I've got you again. What's the score, Hikaru?"
The dull boy looks up from his computer, still researching about the school. "Uh... I dunno. I lost track a little while ago..." Kasume sighs and plops down next to him on the floor. "Find anything yet?"
Kage speaks up. "How could you expect him to know?" He sighs, wiping his glasses. "After all, he just came here because he's rich."
"Yeah.." Kazuki eyes Hikaru suspiciously. "It ain't like he has talent."
Kasume scoffs and steps up. "Excuse me! Ryujin has plenty of talent, and much more than you! He was accepted for a reason."
Kazuki stifles a chuckle. "Yeah, because he's rich." Hikaru steps between the two of them. "Guys," he starts, attempting to break the tension. "That's not what's important. I actually did find something."
He beckons the other three to take a seat on the floor next to him. Kasume asks with a certain curiosity in her voice, "What is it?"
Kage smirks. "It's a database, idiot." Kasume rolls her eyes at him. Despite Kage's initial appearance, the boy has turned out to actually be a pain in the side. Hikaru ignores this, wanting to get his point across without another argument blooming between his roommates. It had been happening a lot in the past few days; he doesn't know why they can't just be like him and be calm. "Anyway... he's right, it is a database. But... it's a database of students. And what I found is... really, really weird."
He clicks on the tab, scrolling through the database for a bit. Eventually, he lands on Ryujin. Kasume speaks up, "Hey, that's my brother! But... what's that say on the record?" On the tab next to Ryujin's name, it says 'Under Supervision.'
Kage considers this. "Huh... that makes a bit of sense." At everyone's confused looks, he continues. "Oh, you guys didn't notice? I saw him, when we were in the conference room. You know, that guy who was escorting them? Mori, I think his name was. He looks like he could be Tamaki's brother, but I'm not sure. The important thing is, did you see the way he was hovering over Ryujin? Like he didn't want him to talk to Kasume."
Kasume looks up. "Yeah... now that you say it, Ryujin was acting pretty weird. He wouldn't even look at me." She then gets an idea. "Wait... Hikaru. Scroll down on the list? Yeah... I was right! Look, Tamaki and Mori are both registered students in the school!"
Hikaru, after scrolling down and seeing this, nods. "Wow... and they're only third years!" Kage stands up. He's about had it with this. All he wanted was to go to a school that honed his supposed heightened intelligence, not have to solve a mystery about some random girl's brother. This wasn't was he signed up for, what he passed so many tests for. "That's it. This situation is becoming... to serious. If we're really gonna ask these types of questions, we should actually go see what this is all about." Everyone casts a wary glance at each other.
"Kage..." Hikaru sighs, also standing up. "I think you're right. The best way to get answers, we should ask Tamaki. After all, he seemed a bit confused too at the way Mori was being. The guy probably has answers."
Kazuki, not taking this seriously, snickers. "You guys are such idiots. There's no conspiracy or whatever behind this. It's simple." He points to Kasume. "Ryujin's just mad that this idiot didn't want to be in class with him.
Kage steps up. "K-Kazuki... let's not cause unnecessary problems-" He's interrupted again by Kazuki.
"Oh, shut up." The boy says. "You guys noticed too, you're just too sappy to say anything. Kasume didn't pick this class as a 'mistake'. She just denies that she didn't want to be stuck to her brother's side anymore." He takes a step closer. "Come on... don't act like you weren't practically screaming to hurry this up when we walked in. And during the selection. Did you see your face? You seemed happy to not be in his class. You were laughing, Kasume. Don't tell me... you didn't feel something? Back me up, guys." He looks around at the other boys.
"I mean..." Hikaru mumbles. "You weren't, like, crying or anything after he wouldn't talk to you. A part of you seemed almost relieved."
Kasume's almost had it. She didn't smile, she knows it... right? 'I...I wasn't happy... right? I wasn't relieved, I was angry. I was upset. She thinks to herself. She gets up, stalking towards the door. "If you guys aren't going to ask Tamaki about this, fine! But... but don't come trying to talk to me or whatever!"
Kage takes a step over. "Kasume... look, I'm sure they didn't mean-"
"Oh, we did." Kazuki smirks. "I'm so fed up with you thinking you're better than us, just because you're a little bit stronger. That's right, go. Go ahead, and look stupid when you get suspended for snooping around." He turns his back, now satisfied with the damage he's done.
Kasume scoffs, leaving the room. "If they can't see what's right in front of them, I'll show them." She continues walking, until she runs face first into something. Or, someone.
