For several consecutive days, Li Guanyi was busy with various matters. After Stick Monk Thirteen informed him of the passing of the Old Living Buddha, he politely declined Li Guanyi's invitation to stay and set off on his journey once more.
"Everyone has their own ambitions. Mr. Li has his own world, and I, as a humble monk, seek the Buddhist Law within my heart. Perhaps one day when I have resolved the confusion in my heart, I will return to the Academy. By then, we can chat leisurely, Mr. Li."
Li Guanyi inquired: "Where does the monk intend to go?"
Stick Monk Thirteen had once said that the world is a sea of suffering, with no return and no departure. However, after witnessing the passing of the Living Buddha, his current answer differed from before. With hands clasped, he simply said: "Initially, the patriarch asked me to let go, and I responded that I would not."
"So, he asked me to descend the mountain, and I still wish to see [Buddha]."
