Lin Xi said proudly, "See? I wasn't wrong, was I?"
"We'll have to taste it first to know if it's any good," Si Wen retorted.
When Xue Yang saw them walk in, he looked up. "Are you two hungry?"
"Not really," Lin Xi replied. "I just brought Si Wen over to see what we're having for lunch."
Xue Yang introduced the menu. "We have steamed taro with pork ribs, braised chicken with shiitake mushrooms, boiled tofu, stir-fried bok choy, and a carrot and lotus root soup."
Si Wen peeked at the semi-finished dishes. Even though they weren't cooked yet, they already looked incredibly appetizing. This was significant, as Si Wen was notoriously picky about her food. The fact that the meal could already whet her appetite was proof enough of Xue Yang's impressive culinary skills.
"You two can go play a game or something," he said. "The food should be ready in about an hour."
"Okay," Lin Xi replied, obediently pulling Si Wen away.
"You're really obedient, aren't you?" Si Wen teased.
