Sapphira's P.O.V
Beep…Beep…Beep…
(Mumbles) 'That stupid alarm has gone off again', I don't feel like waking up so that I will not have my hopes up for something new but I have to get up and keep on as life goes on. As I get up from my bed and walked to the balcony in my room and I saw my mum throwing the trash into the garbage bin and a big smile appeared on my face as I was staring at her.
She looked up with a surprised look on her face, "Aren't you going to prepare for school?" she said. "Yeah mum I'm going to…" (She cuts in) "You know today is going to be your first day in another school so you must not be late" "Okay". I went to my room to start preparing for school while my mum made breakfast. If I really want to make a change I have to look different from what I used to be.
When I was done, I came downstairs walked into the kitchen to have my breakfast and pack up my lunch, only to find my mum shocked to the extent that her mouth was slightly open, "My…oh…my darling you're looking beautiful!" she exclaimed. "Thanks mum" "Okay…" pushes my plate of food to me "…hurry up, eat it before it gets cold and you'll be late for school" "Okay".
As I quickly finished my breakfast of strawberry sandwich my mom gets the car ready to take me to school. Since we moved into a new house she has been going from interview to another and now she has got a new job and as always she is never at home, if this school's authority had not asked parents to escort their kids on the first day of entrance I am sure she would have dumped me in a school bus.
'Don't call me ungrateful but it's not like I care about all these things. It's just that I want spend some time with her because every job she gets in places we move to, always take all of her time giving me little or no time with her.'. Now I picked up my lunch box and got into the car which drove me to path of determination in making a new start.
Once we got into the school my mum took me to the principals' office and mum talked to the principal about my achievements and he gave me some instructions and things that I need to know about the school. "Midwood High is a prestigious school that input good morals in its student." "Really that wonderful" my mum was impressed with the performance of the school. "Yes, yes, yes, our school has won many competitions…".
Ring…Ring…Ring
"Miss Woods why don't we take you to your class." "Sure". Everyone went to their homeroom as my mum and I followed him through the halls. As we walked down the hall my mum and I listened to him as he gave us his speech, "We are consistently rated in the top ten academically in the state, and I think she'll also find this school fitting for her.". After saying this my mum and the principal left me in the hallway to finish my paper work as soon as they left I remembered that I don't know where I'm going so I move over to a girl who was picking books from her locker and asked.
"Hi, please can you direct me to Mr. Jones class" "It's the third class to your left" "Thanks" "You are welcome". Weird right, she didn't even look at me, I walk towards the direction the girl showed me and entered the classroom. As I walked into the class all eyes were on me and when I looked around I saw that the class was a bit scanty and just then a young looking man came up to me and asked "Hey, you must be Sapphira, right?" "Yes sir" he signals me to come forward and turns to the class "Class, I would like to introduce you all to Miss Sapphira Woods, she is going to be your new classmate so class please welcome her" he turns to me "please take a seat".
Wow! A math teacher for homeroom, things might get quite complicated but they didn't really things went smoothly and after I finished math class and all my classes for the morning I was looking for the cafeteria when I saw the same girl that I saw in the morning so I finally decided to walk up to her thinking that maybe I could make some new friends but I feel like there might be trouble where I'm heading.
