There were some strange claw marks distributed around.
From within the darkness came a piercing shriek, followed by the rise of a massive pair of wings stretching open atop the highest pyramid. A horned creature with a form similar to that of a dragon revealed itself—but it was nearly impossible to describe this entity with the word 'dragon.' It had seven golden-red eyes, asymmetrically arranged on what could barely be called its head.
Its body was shrouded in black mist that seemed to cascade down from the pyramid like a waterfall, and within the mist revealed a creature covered in grotesque, spiky protrusions. It still retained some semblance of the giant dragon it once might have been.
But it looked more like a monstrosity from a nightmare.
