While Ronald and Luna were busy casually chit chatting with each other at Luna's exhibition stand, at the very other side of the trade show, a handsome figure wearing a casual business shirt could be seen standing quietly on the side of a small exhibition stand that was advertising a new face wash product.
The handsome figure clearly had a calm demeanor as he stood there, and he seemingly appeared to not be interested with anything that was going on at all.
But the truth of the matter is that, if anyone were to pay just a little bit more attention to him, they would quickly realize that this handsome figure was in fact actually staring intently at a certain "couple" standing together in the distance.
More specifically, he was staring at both Ronald and Luna.
That's right, he was Ye Fan.
And he had just seen the whole public display of affection between Ronald and Luna just a little while ago.
However, he didn't like their public display of affection towards each other one single bit.
In fact, despite his outward appearance right now, he was actually upset inside his heart.
After all, before he had even returned back to China about a few days ago, he had taken the time to personally submit an application to be Luna Xuan's bodyguard as she claimed online that she needed some.
And considering his exceptional qualifications, he had fully expected to be accepted without hesitation.
And sure, while he might've left some important parts out like the fact that he was literally one of the four Gods of War in the West, a rank that was just one step below the Dragon King who was the strongest in those lands, or that he had an extremely powerful background overseas, it still should've been definitely more than enough for him to impress her.
Yet, despite this, his application had been rejected, leaving his plan of beginning to build up connections here in China completely ruined before it could even start.
Now of course, he could always try and start building up his connections elsewhere, and it didn't have to solely start off with the Xuan family to be honest, but since Luna was the prettiest women he had ever seen throughout his entire life, he wanted to start off with her and even had another long term goal of eventually making her become his woman.
Thankfully, not all hope is lost though, as he had a good understanding of who Luna was based off of his complete research on her and her family back while he was overseas, and he knew what to do in order to win her over eventually.
With that in mind, Ye Fan adverted his gaze away from Ronald and Luna, and then turned his attention over to the exhibition stand he was standing right next to.
"Hey." Ye Fan called out to the salesman at the stand and held up one of the bottles from the display shelf, "These face wash product of yours... I see that you're advertising them as premium grade quality and all, but after looking at the ingredients you have labeled here on the back, something seems a little off to me."
"Oh? And what exactly seems off to you, sir?" The salesman, who had noticed Ye Fan hovering around his company's stand for awhile now, raised his eyebrows and forced a smile as he stared at Ye Fan.
Ye Fan didn't reply to the salesman right away and instead popped open the face wash bottle first.
Afterwards, Ye Fan got a good whiff of the scent that the face wash bottle emitted inside and deeply frowned.
"The scent is completely off." Ye Fan shook the bottle slightly and then glanced at the ingredients list on the back before putting it back on the shelf and continued, "Just as I thought, clearly you guys aren't using the premium grade quality ingredients that you guys have claimed to be using on the labels whatsoever, and have substituted them with much cheaper and more harmful alternatives instead."
"...Sir, please don't make such wild accusations here, especially when you have nothing to support your claims with. It's not only disrespectful, but it's also grounds for defamation." The salesman stated sternly as he tried his best to hide his disdain for Ye Fan.
"It's not defamation if I'm telling the truth though, is it?" Ye Fan then paused for a moment to take a look at his surroundings, and seeing that a large crowd had already begun to gather around the commotion, Ye Fan deliberately raised his voice for everyone to hear, "I mean seriously, how can a supposedly premium quality that advertises to keeps skins hydrated, reduces wrinkles, and even enhances the skin's softness give out such a foul and harsh scent, hm? There's clearly harmful chemicals inside the face wash product that's extremely harmful to the skin and I won't just stay silent about it!"
"That's it, I've had it enough with you! Security!" The salesman finally lost his cool and he instantly called out for security.
A few seconds later, a couple of security guards came out of their control room and forced themselves through the crowd.
"What seems to be the problem here?" One of the guards asked the salesman.
"This guy has been falsely accusing and slandering the company I work for of unethical business practices for a couple of minutes now and he won't stop at all whatsoever! I suspect that he got into this trade show uninvited and just wants to cause trouble for the sake of it. Please do something about this!" The salemans pointed his finger at Ye Fan and stated.
"Is this true, sir?" The guard turned to Ye Fan.
"The part about me coming here uninvited is absolutely not true, but I'm not lying when I say that the face wash product they're advertising is harmful to the skin. I can even show physical proof if you guys want." Even though Ye Fan did actually come into this invite only trade show uninvited, he didn't flinch in the slightest and maintained the same calm and confident expression on his face.
"No! I don't consent to him testing the pro-" Before the salesman could nervously finish out his sentence, the guards interrupted him.
"Sir, for the safety of the attendees who may want to purchase your product, we can't let such an accusation fly by so easily. So please cooperate with us for now and remain calm until we can verify the authenticity of the product." The guard then swiftly took the bottle from the exhibition stand and handed it to Ye Fan, "If you can prove that the face wash product the company is selling is indeed harmful, then the State Administration for Market Regulation will deal with the company properly, otherwise we'll make sure that you will thoroughly face the consequences of your actions."
Ye Fan nodded at the guard's words and took the face wash bottle confidently.
Afterwards, he unscrewed the cap of the face wash once again and took one of the silk handkerchief on display at a nearby stand.
"Before I demonstrate this, let me explain something first. Silk is one of the most delicate fabrics in the world, and they contain protein like the human skin does. As such, it can easily be damaged by harsh chemicals."
Ye Fan paused for a second as he poured a small amount of the face wash onto the silk handkerchief and gently rubbed it in before continuing, "And if this face wash is indeed good and safe for the skin just as it claims to be, then it won't harm the silk this handkerchief is made out of, just like it shouldn't harm your skin. But if it's filled with harmful chemicals…"
Ye Fan didn't say anything else and allowed the crowd to watch as the silk began to warp and discolor.
Then once a whole minute has passed and the handkerchief was visibly frayed and deteriorated...
"This is what happens." Ye Fan held up the handkerchief for everyone to see.
Everyone in the whole crowd couldn't help but gasp.
This was absolutely an eye opener for all of them.
After all, most, if not all, uses face washes on a daily basis as part of their hygiene, and they had never once questioned if it was detrimental to their skins or not.
But now that they have seen that a face wash can harm their skin, they were all worried about whether or not the face wash product they're using have harmful chemicals inside them as well.
Nevertheless, they were all extremely thankful to Ye Fan for revealing this to them, and the trade show errupted with applauses.
"Whooo, you rock!"
"Seriously, you're the best!"
As the attendees showered Ye Fan with all kinds of praises, his expression turned smug, and he turned over to the salesman proudly.
Unfortunately Ye Fan couldn't fully see the pathetic face that the salesman currently was making as the security guards had already begun dragging the salesman and all of his other co-workers out of the venue.
But Ye Fan didn't really care about the faces they were making anyways as he was focused on something else entirely.
To be more specific, he was staring at the direction of where Ronald and Luna were currently standing at once again.
And seeing that both Luna and Ronald were also looking over at him now, Ye Fan couldn't help but inwardly nod in satisfaction.
He knew that the whole altruism stunt he had pulled off just now had definitely gotten Luna's attention, and sooner or later, he'll be able to use this as a way to gain favorability from Luna later on.
With that in mind, Ye Fan walked into the crowd and disappeared as they continued to shower him with praise and thank you.
Ronald, who had saw the entire thing unfold with Luna the moment Ye Fan raised his voice, couldn't help but become flabbergasted.
'...'
'Wow Ye Fan...'
'I know that we're enemies and all...'
'But damn, I always knew I can always count on you to keep the story on track.'
