Chapter 24 - whirlpool of emotional havoc 3: Mo Jinsheng's

When I heard that Li Chaihong had revived after she fainted, I was very excited. There was a fifty percent probability that she would be her real self but what I saw was the woman she could have become. I love Shishi and Shishi is Li Chaihong, clone or not. I made up my mind to love all of her.

As soon as she stepped out of that room, the night of our wedding anniversary, she was so breathtaking that I almost wanted to lock her away. There was that feisty light in her eyes. Now that's the Shishi I know but there was that little doubt lingering.

I noticed she was guarded so I had to pretend like I didn't care.

I knew Jin Shishi had some feelings for me but all I saw was a girl who had been through hell. I can hardly be described as kind but I had a soft spot for all the nine children who were unlucky to have become experimental specimens at such a young age. I didn't care to expose her when she approached me as Shishi. Infact I knew her real name was Jin Xing.

Just by calling herself Mrs. Mo was more valuable to me than a project worth billions. To me she is priceless. The flaws of being a clone long forgotten. I wanted to have her right there and then.

I saw Jin Shishi's antics as a way to get her jealous enough to escape the boundaries set by her body. She loves me, she should be crazily jealous but what I saw was depressing. She didn't care much.

At that point, I deeply loathed grandfather Li. His plans were too crazy. I didn't even dare think what the result of such arrangements could have been. What if...

The more I saw her was the more I was losing my rationale. My desire for her was on the rise. Knowing that I might lose her if it continued, I declare a business trip. I had to check on a few things in Shanghai anyway.

Alas, I couldn't bear to leave her for long. I was back before I even left. When I returned, I was told she had retired for the night.

I downed a few glasses of wine, poured some on my shirt and the act was in motion.

When I saw her, I knew I would do more than just pretend to be drunk. Shishi.... There was no better chance than this... To let loose, just a little...

After the assault by the mob, I went to see my grandmother.

"Grandma she remembers all the Moves thought by those people!"

"Courtesy boy" she smiled knowingly. I never could contain my excitement when it comes to Shishi.

"Our dear Angelina, do we have any hope?"

" I can't say boy, can't say"

With a look I could tell she was at crossroads too. It saddened me more. My grandmother's nickname in the research world before she retired, 'Whiz Angel' was beginning to have less appeal now.

"Even I do not have the appeal anymore. I should have just stayed retired."

"Don't feel burdened grandma"

"I regret only these few things boy. Just these few things" she had aged gracefully after retirement but now I have made her haggard and truly old

"We all age boy, don't be sad"

We were always like this. My grandmother and I, we could read each others thoughts just by expressions.

"Shishi... She's more than my redemption. I love her."

"I know. But when there are uncertainties like this we learn to live with what we are given?"

"What have I been given?"

"Li Chaihong... Your heart knows this. That body could have died a long time ago. She knew that before any of us and she prepared for it."

"I have never been so proud of another. She's a genius! And I want to experience life with her, all of her. I've always wanted to know what she is like."

"She might have known this and prepared for it by leaving things this way. Don't be selfishly in love. The possibility of the dangers she might become in the future might have compelled her to act that way."

"I see what it means. Accepting it.... It's almost impossible"

"Almost is good" she smiled, a sad smile.

"I need to go" I got up as soon as the words left me. I couldn't allow the old woman to be too sad.

"What a rascal. He only visits because of that girl."

" I love you, grandma" A soft pecks on her forehead and off I went.

As I stepped out, I could hear my grandma on the phone with Pheno, the new researcher.

"Pheno, do a re-run and let's see what comes..."

Another round of tests and research.

The very day she travelled to Africa, we were on the same flight. It was my first flight as an economy to avoid a quick coincidence.

When she was at the beach, I was there.

I had been living under her nose throughout her stay.

I talked Mr. Alfred into bringing her to the gala.

Eventhough. Grandpa Li and my grandmother had insisted I stirred away from her, I had still followed her to Africa. I attended the wedding in disguise. I knew everyarrangement her grandfather had made but it took quite a while for me to realise An Qiao's plot.

It was I who sent Sandra to seduce my cousin Desmond. In my analysis, Desmond will loose both An Qiao and Shishi but I couldn't kill two birds with one stone or to be precise, I didn't know that An Qiao had another backing. An elusive one at that.

Yet, I had failed to protect her at the gala. The alcohol was no ordinary one. This time I was really drunk.

At GG LAB, I played right into the hands of the director. He had no intentions of releasing Shishi...
