Outside the cave was an endless black night, and inside the hidden cave was a little girl, a fire illuminating her dirty little face.
The little girl rolled up her sleeves, flipped over the roasting mountain rat, then sat down and cautiously removed her worn-out shoes. By the time she took off her shoes, her forehead was covered with a fine layer of cold sweat. She wiped it with her sleeve, cleaning away a small patch of dirt to reveal her fair, delicate skin.
Her gaze fell on her feet, only to see that her tender, pale feet had developed several blisters, some of which had burst and stuck to her shoes. Removing the shoes had pulled at her skin, causing a body full of cold sweat, and many of the old blister marks hadn't healed, clearly from walking too much.
Since that day, more than ten days had passed, and Xiao Lian Hua had learned many things; her greatest achievement was learning to live on her own, learning not to think, but just to keep moving in one direction.
