Pei Huaian wiped away the tears from his face with a heartache, feeling somewhat guilty: "I'm sorry, I knew you didn't want to hear these things, yet I kept on bringing them up."
Shao He was usually very strong, never shedding a single tear no matter the pain. But the man before her had said something that suddenly made her heart sour.
Pei Huaian turned to leave, but Shao He grabbed his hand and whispered, "Even though I've forgotten everything from before, I'm willing to start over with you."
Shao He could clearly feel his body trembling slightly, and her heart filled with even more guilt.
Pei Huaian turned back to look at her, his smile as gentle and glorious as the moonlight, and extended his arms to embrace her.
He quietly asked, "Can I stay tonight?"
Shao He was stunned for a moment before she realized what he meant, her lips curling into a smile as she nodded her head.
