Xu Nianhua, since it was still early, deliberately made a detour to Pei Yicheng's temporary office at his factory. She brought half a watermelon, planning to share it with him.
Pei Yicheng had just finalized the contract details with Boss Song. When he saw Xu Nianhua walk in, his eyes lit up instantly. He hurried to stand, pulled her over to sit and rest, handed her some water, and asked, "What brings you to the city today?"
"What, you don't want to see me?" Xu Nianhua shot him a sidelong glance, surveying his makeshift office—it really was way too makeshift; there wasn't even a fan, and it felt a bit stuffy just walking in.
Pei Yicheng grabbed a file and gently fanned her with it, gazing at her tenderly as he said, "How could I not want to see you? I wish I could see you every day—it's not even enough! I wish I could open my eyes in the morning and see you right away."
His gaze was utterly focused on her.
