Pei Yining grinned as she set the bowls and chopsticks, not calling out Xu Nianhua's shyness—she'd seen Nianhua's ears turn red.
"Let's eat, I'm hungry too." Pei Yining looked at the three dishes and one soup on the table. Aside from the tomato egg soup—which she made herself—the braised ribs, stir-fried beef, and Mapo Tofu were all cooked by Xu Nianhua.
"So tasty!"
Pei Yining tried the ribs, gave her a big thumbs up, and said it was almost as good as a chef's, but even better with that homemade flavor.
"This beef is so tender, and the tofu is numbing and spicy. It's just delicious."
Pei Yining, out of character, ate two big bowls of rice. If only her stomach wasn't too full, she sat on her chair, rubbed her round belly, and said, "I can't, I can't eat another bite."
"If you like it, I'll make it for you again next time. I'll cook until you never want to eat anymore."
Having her cooking enjoyed by someone else made Xu Nianhua genuinely happy inside.
