"The craftsmanship doesn't look like something you'd find on the market," said Fei Jiayi, whose family is well-off—her mom works in jewelry—so when she looked at the jade Buddha, she could tell something was different.
"Mutton-fat jade, Pei Yicheng really didn't spare any effort."
Fei Jiayi leaned in for a closer look and immediately saw this jade wasn't ordinary.
Just as she wanted another look, Xu Nianhua quickly stuffed the jade into her clothes. Rubbing her eyes, she said, "Guys, stop studying the jade. Isn't the quiz contest starting at nine this morning?"
"Oh right!" Fei Jiayi's attention shifted instantly. Clutching her notebook, she started jotting down vocabulary with utmost seriousness.
The second round of the quiz contest was basically a vocabulary showdown—who knew the most and broadest range of words.
Xu Nianhua stood on the quiz chair, almost feeling like she was cheating.
