"Take a look!" Xu Nianhua urged happily, her face beaming with joy.
Xu Nian'an, feeling a mix of emotions, opened the envelope. Inside were five ten-yuan bills—fifty yuan, about a month and a half's wages.
"How about it? Am I amazing or what?" Xu Nianhua looked at him, hoping for praise and affirmation.
"Amazing."
Xu Nian'an didn't hold back his compliments: "You've always been smart. Back when we made Mung Bean Jelly, if it hadn't been for you, our family wouldn't have changed so much. Little sis, you're so outstanding, you're making your second brother feel the pressure."
Now Mom and Dad each worked in a factory; the money the family spent wasn't their responsibility anymore. Even daily expenses and his own living costs weren't small.
Big brother now drove deliveries, and his wages would only grow in the future.
Their little sister was still a student, but she earned more than most people. Only Xu Nian'an seemed to just spend money and not know how to earn it yet.
