"What beautiful flowers," Xu Nianhua exclaimed, gazing at the half-wall covered in purple wisteria—it looked almost like a wall made of blossoms.
Pei Yining grinned proudly. "These are wisteria flowers my mom planted. Gorgeous, aren't they?"
"Yes."
Xu Nianhua nodded firmly. It was dusk, not fully dark yet, and the sunset light spilled over the wisteria, as if coating them with a golden glow.
"Yining, don't wisteria usually bloom in March or April?" Xu Nianhua marveled, then grew a little curious.
"Yeah, but ours are well cared for—they bloom twice a year."
Pei Yining only knew the flowers were well tended, but didn't know the details. She said, "If you're curious, you can ask Auntie Jin later. She's here every day, she probably knows more than me."
"Come on, I'll take you upstairs for a shower. After a whole day on the train, you must be exhausted, huh?"
