Hearing his promise, Anna didn't doubt that he would do exactly as he said or die trying.
A moment later, she left the box on the nightstand before leaving the room.
She was also determined to become stronger and intended to reach the second stage as soon as possible.
Paul dropped the hunter's spatial device and reached for the box.
Lifting the lid, he found a letter and a ring-shaped spatial device, which he remembered seeing on Fei Fei's hand.
He opened the letter.
"Darling.
If you're reading this, then something went wrong and I'm either dead or was captured and taken away.
Either way, it's safe to assume I'm no longer in the mortal realm.
Whatever happened to me, I'm sure you did you're best to protect me, so don't you dare blame yourself.
The spatial device contains all of my wealth, and I left it for you to help you become strong.
Inside are also rings meant for all my little sisters and all of our other friends, so please deliver them personally.
I know that whatever happened to me, you will want to either avenge me or get me back.
So if I'm still alive, I'll wait for you, however long it takes, so don't rush things and don't try to rescue me before you are strong enough to do so.
I can't wait for our next meeting, in this or the next life.
Forever yours:
Fei Fei."
Paul read the letter four times before putting it down.
He had no idea how she knew what was going to happen, but after thinking about it for a while, it was not that hard to guess that whoever was targeting her was from the upper realms, and neither she nor he had any chance of defeating such an opponent as they were.
Not wasting any time, he picked up the ring and started forming a connection with it.
Once it was done, he took a look inside, only to be stunned.
There were dozens of spatial devices inside.
Each was labeled for what it contained: books, weapons, gold coins, ingredients, crystal coins, pills, potions, armor, and many, many more items, she had amassed through her journey down and her stay in the mortal realm.
Inside were also the rings that the letter mentioned, each labeled with the name of the intended recipient.
Paul decided that it would be best to deliver them all tomorrow, since he had to go visit his uncle and the city lord's manor either way.
Sliding the ring from Fei Fei on his finger, it was beautiful and fantastically made, looking like a miniature Chinese dragon coiling around his finger.
Paul stored the box and picked up the hunter's spatial device.
No matter what, he had to open it, since he expected to find Fei Fei's scale inside, and with the explanation she gave him, he knew that it could help him find her, once he reached the eleventh realm.
However, the device still had a connection to its previous owner.
So to open the device, the connection had to be severed, and it helped a lot that the further the owner and the spatial device were apart, the weaker the connection became.
Paul cut open his hand, soaking the device with his blood, before he started to pour his Qi into it.
He closed his eyes, and a mental image of the connection manifested in his mind.
It looked like a thick rope, next to which was another one that was not connected to the device.
That was his blood, that he used as a medium to form a connection.
Controlling his Qi, he cut a thread from the rope and connected it to his medium.
The moment the thread was connected, he cut another one and did the same thing.
One at a time, he cut and moved the threads, feeling his connection with the device getting stronger, while the one with its previous owner has become weaker and weaker.
This was a long and tedious work, but also the only way he knew how to gain control of someone else's spatial device.
There were other methods to do this, but unfortunately, he didn't learn any of them, so he was stuck with this one.
Finally, after hours of this tedious work, the last thread was cut, severing the connection once and for all, and the moment it was attached to the second rope, Paul felt his connection with the spatial device stabilizing.
Without any further delay, he took a look inside the device, discovering thousands of items inside.
Not only was the space inside the device many times larger than any other device he had ever seen, but it was also filled with many items, most of which he had no idea what they even were.
Looking around inside for a while, he found what he was looking for.
Fei Fei's adult scale was inside the device, as he expected, but more than that, he had found the three mana carrots he had auctioned off, as well as the Physique changing pill and many other items that were stolen, after the auction ended.
Other than that, there were bottles of potions, and pills he was unable to recognize, some herbs he was seeing for the first time, even some weapons, giving off some kind of Aura he had never felt before.
-Don't touch these items if you value your life.
A voice inside his head warned him.
It belonged to his reincarnation soul.
-Do you know what these items are?
Paul asked, hoping to at least get some answers.
-Yes.
These items are from the higher realm, and even the weakest of them is powerful enough to destroy you on the spot.
You will learn about them as your cultivation progresses and reaches higher stages.
For now, just trust me and don't touch them, and don't reveal them to anyone under any circumstances.
It would be best for you to remove the items from the mortal realm, transferring them to your ring and sealing this device for the time being.
-Alright.
Paul agreed.
Since there was nothing there for him a the moment, he could as well do as the soul advised.
He took out all the items from the auction, as well as everything else he recognised as belonging to the mortal realm, along with all the money, and of course, Fei Fei's scale.
After transferring the items, he sealed the device before storing it in his ring.
-Good work.
The soul said and disappeared as suddenly as it appeared in his mind.
Paul was left feeling like a frog in a well after taking a look at the contents of the hunter's spatial device.
Despite all the knowledge he had amassed and received from his reincarnation soul, he could not identify even 1% of the items in that device, which was a humbling experience for him.
