Tsukuyomi, a special dojutsu that resides within the Mangekyō Sharingan, can drag enemies into a genjutsu space where time, matter, and all other factors are under the caster's control.
In this genjutsu space, regardless of how much time passes within, only an instant elapses in the real world.
Normally, when subjected to such a powerful genjutsu, one would require a comrade to disrupt their chakra flow to break free. However, since Tsukuyomi takes effect in the real world within a single second, conventional methods of breaking genjutsu are ineffective against it. The only way to escape Tsukuyomi is for the victim to break free themselves.
Once Tsukuyomi is successfully cast, the battle essentially shifts to an alternate dimension.
The dojutsu in Ye Zi's right eye, Tenjin, cannot perfectly neutralize genjutsu. It has an upper limit to its resistance. When the strength of the enemy's genjutsu surpasses this threshold, Ye Zi becomes vulnerable to genjutsu. Conversely, if the genjutsu does not exceed this threshold, it can be completely neutralized.
Now that Fugaku has dragged Ye Zi into the Tsukuyomi space, it means his genjutsu has surpassed this upper limit.
For a mere Tsukuyomi, Ye Zi's Tenjin would have been able to neutralize it. However, the dojutsu in Fugaku's left eye was the key to dragging Ye Zi into the Tsukuyomi space.
"Omikami", this is the dojutsu residing in Fugaku's left eye. It can amplify the strength of genjutsu by tenfold. Using this ability, he enhanced the power of Tsukuyomi, breaking through Ye Zi's genjutsu defenses with Tenjin and dragging him into the Tsukuyomi space.
This was why Fugaku is convinced that no one can fully immunize themselves against genjutsu, even if they possess the Mangekyō Sharingan.
When Ye Zi entered this space, Fugaku believed victory was assured. He thought so because he didn't understand the full capabilities of Ye Zi's Tenjin.
Ye Zi, on the other hand, was puzzled. Despite having Tenjin, he still succumbed to Fugaku's genjutsu. Could it simply mean the opponent's ocular power was too overwhelming?
Naturally, Fugaku had no intention of kindly explaining the presence of "Omikami" in his left eye to Ye Zi.
"You have no chance now," Fugaku declared coldly, his arms crossed as he slightly raised his chin, his face exuding icy disdain.
Suddenly, a torture rack rose from where Ye Zi stood. In the blink of an eye, defying the laws of physics, it bound Ye Zi's limbs to wooden pillars. His neck was also tightly chained to the rack.
It was just an ordinary torture rack, yet Ye Zi was unable to break free.
"In this space, time and matter are mine to control," Fugaku said in an icy tone. Without any discernible movement, blood-red blades suddenly materialized in midair around the torture rack. Hundreds of them floated, all pointing their tips at the bound Ye Zi.
Despite being surrounded by hovering blades and tightly bound to the rack, Ye Zi remained calm, his expression indifferent, as if he cared little about the danger about to unfold.
Tenjin was slowly absorbing the energy that formed this genjutsu space. Once it had drained all the energy, the space would collapse on its own. Until then, Ye Zi only needed to endure Fugaku's genjutsu attacks, and Tenjin would provide him with the greatest support.
No matter how terrifying the genjutsu's strength, Tenjin would remain its nemesis. Furthermore, Uchiha Fuqiu's two dojutsu only made Tenjin continuously absorb genjutsu energy.
This was a most welcome situation.
Swish! Swish!
Hundreds of blades suddenly shot toward Ye Zi without warning.
Slash! Slash!
In an instant, Ye Zi, bound to the torture rack, was pierced by countless blades. Flesh and bone, along with the wooden rack, were reduced to debris.
Fugaku coldly watched the scene, his expression unmoved.
Tsukuyomi, being a genjutsu, cannot cause physical harm to the target's body. However, it can torture the target to death through mental torment.
Without "Omikami", Fugaku wouldn't have been able to drag Ye Zi into this Tsukuyomi space, let alone torture him to death with genjutsu.
If the target of Tsukuyomi were an ordinary jōnin without a Sharingan, "Omikami" wouldn't even be necessary, Tsukuyomi alone could directly torture them to death. On the other hand, if the target were an Uchiha with a Sharingan, it would at most inflict severe mental trauma but not cause death.
That was the difference.
Now, using both "Omikami" and "Tsukuyomi", Fugaku was confident he could torture Ye Zi to death in this space. When Tsukuyomi ended, only a second would have passed in the real world, and by then, Ye Zi would already be dead.
This terrifying dojutsu was designed to target powerful individuals, and Ye Zi was the perfect target.
After a second of gazing at the scattered remains of flesh and bone on the blood-red ground, they suddenly vanished. In the blink of an eye, Ye Zi reappeared on the intact torture rack, completely unharmed. Around him, the hundreds of floating blades remained.
"Mental torment, is it?" Ye Zi's brow furrowed slightly, and he raised his head to give Uchiha Fuqiu a cold smile from a distance.
In this peculiar space, it wasn't just a simple thousand blades through the heart. Each blade that struck Ye Zi in an instant followed a distinct trajectory and timing. They seemed like a pre-programmed sequence, slicing through Ye Zi's body in perfect synchronization, reducing him to rubble in a single moment.
Such unnatural phenomena could indeed manifest in this space.
Moreover, the pain from each blade, whether it sliced off flesh or a fragment of bone, didn't converge all at once but was distinctly separated and experienced.
In other words, within a fleeting instant, hundreds of blades pulverized Ye Zi's body, yet he had to endure the pain from each blade individually within that brief moment.
This was the eerie nature of Fugaku's time manipulation in this genjutsu space. Whatever he willed could be achieved.
Seeing Ye Zi endure hundreds of blades with such composure, Fugaku raised a brow but said nothing. Once again, the floating blades around Ye Zi shredded him into countless pieces.
A second later, Ye Zi reappeared unscathed. This time, his brow furrowed slightly, but his face still bore a cold sneer.
Amplified to ten times the intensity, this kind of pain is not something a normal person could endure. Experiencing it once would be enough to collapse... Let alone two, three, or even four times. To endure hundreds of blades in a single second. What about sixty seconds, or three hundred sixty seconds?
This was torture to death in the truest sense.
Fugaku observed Ye Zi's seemingly calm reaction and assumed it was due to his high pain tolerance. He continued to manipulate the torture.
Thus, time passed, second by second. Every second, Ye Zi endured the pain of hundreds of blades slicing through flesh and bone. Yet, the cold smile on his face remained unbroken.
Was it painless?
Of course not.
Every blade that struck his bones pulled at his nerves, faithfully delivering the message to Ye Zi: it hurt.
And enduring the pain of hundreds of blades in a single second, an ordinary person would go insane from just one such instance.
Yet Ye Zi's reaction remained calm. This was because his Tenjin was at work, helping him to minimize the pain to its fullest extent.
Fugaku's expression gradually turned blank. Even though Ye Zi hadn't let out a single scream from beginning to end, he continued the torture relentlessly.
He firmly believed that no one could survive such torment without succumbing to death.
