Christian looked at Iris standing before him, smiling up at him with that innocent, almost childlike grin. Then, in a teasing tone, he said, "You're really heavy."
He flexed his arms slightly as he spoke, his expression feigning the pain of carrying her.
Iris puffed her cheeks and pouted, her lips curving adorably as she protested, "No, master, I'm as light as a feather. You're only imagining that~"
Christian chuckled at her words, continuing the light banter, when Beta finally approached them. Her eyes sparkled as she said, "Congratulations, big sis, for finally getting a body."
Iris lifted her chin, replying with a proud nod and an air of superiority. But Beta, seemingly forgetting her words already, had turned her attention elsewhere.
She leaned closer to Christian, tilted her head toward his arms, and gently blew a cool breath over them — as if hoping it would ease his pain.
