Originally, Xu Fan speculated that the opponent's identity had three possibilities.
The first, and most likely, was the Six Gods. Xu Fan had just left the Six Gods and was attacked, making it hard not to suspect them!
The second possibility, also quite likely, was that the opponent was from the Taoists!
The third possibility was that they were enemies Xu Fan had made earlier.
Because Xu Fan was quite suspicious of the Six Gods, he didn't act rashly but instead waited to see how things unfolded. When passengers jumped out and dozens of fighter jets spewed tongues of fire simultaneously, Xu Fan knew that the opponent couldn't possibly be from the Six Gods.
Xu Fan had just left the Six Gods and already had a good grasp of their situation. The only one who could possibly snipe Xu Fan was Yan Que! And even Yan Que would not engage in such indiscriminate killing.
